The applications of the candidates are scrutinized by the institute and the list of selected candidates is released based on the marks in qualifying examinations for UG courses and based on the marks scored in entrance exams for PG courses.
After that the candidates are granted admissions upon verification of required documents.
The institute offers postgraduate level courses namely M.A., M.Sc, M.Com and M.Phil. with various specializations to choose from. The approved intake of students for M.Sc courses is 80 students.

The ST candidates should have passed B.A. Honours, B.Sc, or Bachelors degree in Economics, Commerce or Geography for getting admission to M.A., M.Sc and M.Com respectively with at least 45% marks.
