Admission to NIT Nagaland's Electrical and Electronics Engineering program is efficient, completed within a day through AIEEE and counseling. Faculty quality is perceived to have improved over time, though previously many were semi-experienced, putting academic pressure on students. Tuition fees have doubled for upcoming batches, now standing at 62,500 INR per semester. Including hostel and mess fees, costs total around 1 lakh INR per semester. Placement rates are around 50-60%, with IT companies like Deloitte, Infosys, and NVIDIA visiting the campus.
The highest salary package was 29 LPA from ThoughtSpot, and the average is 8 LPA, which is lower than other NITs. Students can start placements after the 6th semester, with internships typically provided during placement drives. Deloitte recruited 10-15 students with packages ranging from 6-7 LPA, while NVIDIA offered a 9 LPA package to 2 students. Though there are no on-campus jobs with stipends or individual scholarships, education loans are available, and SC/ST students can receive a full fee waiver based on annual income.
The overall placement quality is decent but needs improvement.
