This degree is particularly aimed at individuals who wish to develop advanced research skills either as a prelude to a research-based career or as training to become an academic. Unlike a taught MA, students taking an MA by Research focus entirely on developing an extended dissertation of up to 40,000 words in length - over the course of a year for full-time students or two years for part-time students.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- A good Bachelors degree from a recognised institution.
- A score of 60% is considered comparable to a UK 2:1 (Second Class Upper Division). We take into account universities who mark more rigorously, eg University of Delhi, where they usually accept 55% or higher.

Applicants must also submit their research proposal at time of application if it requires a thesis to complete the degree.
