Course Summary
In addition to the core focus on physics as detailed under our BSc/MPhys courses, the BSc or MPhys in Physics with Acoustics allows you to study specialist modules in acoustics. The University of Salford has excellent facilities for the study of acoustics, including our anechoic chamber, the quietest place in North West England.
Course Details
This course is built around a core of compulsory modules that will give you a thorough grounding in physics, in addition you will study specialist modules in Acoustics. You will also take part in group projects that will allow you to develop your team working, problem solving, communication and presentation skills, all desirable within the industrial and research communities.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility
- Students must hold a minimum 2:1 honours degree or an approved professional qualification.
- A good undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification. On occasion, the university may also consider students without a first degree but with significant management experience.
- Submission of IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE test scores is required to get admission to this program.
Work Experience:
Students with relevant full-time work experience are also eligible to apply.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- A three-year bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% or first-class from a reputable university will be considered for direct admission to a taught master's program.
- A four-year bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or technology degrees with a minimum of 60% or first-class from a reputable university.
