Enhance your understanding of exercise physiology, psychology, nutrition and research methods through theoretical study and practical exercise. Learn to communicate information and ideas clearly in different formats appropriate to a variety of audiences.
The course is suitable if you don't meet the entry requirements for our BSc (Hons) Physical Activity, Sport and Health course, or you want extra preparation before starting degree-level study. You share the first year with other sport foundation students, then move on to the degree.
You're taught by a team of skilled lecturers who offer industry and academic experience. Staff have been published on topics such as the psychology of motivation in exercise and health, physical activity participation in older adults, exercise and appetite, effects of exercise on metabolism in diabetes, perceptions and participation in physical activity during pregnancy. You are given the opportunity to conduct your own enquiries into a range of themes around physical activity.

In the foundation year, you build your Physical Activity, Sport and Healthå interest and knowledge alongside developing your academic skills. You receive face-to-face feedback regularly during your modules in order to prepare you for the completion of your assignments. This will be via tasks set for you to undertake in the module seminars or in your independent study time.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- High school leaving certificate required
- two GCE/VCE A level pass
- International baccalaureate
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS: minimum 6.0 overall with minimum 5.5 in each category
- TOEFL iBT: minimum 79 with minimum 17 in listening, 20 in speaking, 18 in reading and 17 in writing
- Pearson: minimum 52 with minimum 51 in each section
- MELAB: minimum 80
Indian Student Specific Requirements:
- Score of standard XII exam with 65 percent
- A levels
