Our flexible, responsive programme is designed for you in collaboration with our industry partners to meet the need for forward-thinking, innovative hospitality graduates who can strategically manage complex hotel operations.
The course is suitable if you donÕt meet the entry requirements for our BSc (Hons) International Hotel Management course, or you want extra preparation before starting degree-level study. You share the first year with other Sheffield Business School foundation year students, then move on to the degree.
You are taught by lecturers with a rich industry background Ð having held management positions in chain and independent hotels in the UK and abroad Ð who infuse teaching with research, industry expertise and passion for the hotel industry. You will be provided with a challenging and supportive learning environment where you will experience 'hands-on' practical learning combined with a traditional classroom environment.
You learn through:

- a consultancy project with a real-world hotel organisation
- field trips
- site visits
- work with external organisations
In the foundation year, youÕll study wider business topics, while specialising in your chosen subject area. YouÕll learn useful skills such as academic writing, work in diverse teams and learn to utilise a wide variety of data sources. In doing so, youÕll fully prepare yourself for undergraduate study.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- High school leaving certificate required
- two GCE/VCE A level pass
- International baccalaureate
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS: minimum 6.0 overall with minimum 5.5 in each category
- TOEFL iBT: minimum 79 with minimum 17 in listening, 20 in speaking, 18 in reading and 17 in writing
- Pearson: minimum 52 with minimum 51 in each section
- MELAB: minimum 80
Indian Student Specific Requirements:
- Score of standard XII exam with 65 percent
- A levels
- International baccalaureate
