The programme details of this course are provided by:School of Art History: The School of Art History is a lively, friendly and supportive community. It has been rated one of the top five places in the UK to study the history of art by the Guardian University Guide (2013). Some 60-80 undergraduate students from across the world graduate each year with Art History degrees. The School is located in the centre of St Andrews in a handsome terrace of townhouses dating from 1824-25 which provides attractive teaching and study rooms.School of Classics: The School of Classics is one of the most vibrant Classics departments in the UK, offering innovative courses at all levels. Our permanent teaching staff, experts in their fields, offer teaching based on cutting-edge research across the full breadth of Greek and Roman culture. The quality and reputation of our research have been recognised by consistently high performance in the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008): in the last exercise, 60% of our research was rated 'world leading' or 'internationally excellent'.
Distinctive features of this course
As a Joint Honours degree student you will study both subjects equally offering you a wide choice of options within subjects. You will analyse works of art in both reproduction and the original with consideration of the special roles which visual media have had in shaping history, society and thought. You will engage with a number of specialist topics such as aspects of medieval, Renaissance and Baroque art and architecture, furniture history, the history of photography and art, architecture, and ideas in the twentieth century. Within Greek you will engage with a number of specialist topics, such as modules on a wide range of authors, literary genres and cultural themes from the archaic to imperial period. There is also the opportunity to begin the language without any previous background or knowledge. It may be possible to spend a semester or year studying abroad as part of this degree programme.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students should have a high school degree from the recognized institution.
- Students can have a diploma with a minimum of 45 credits at Level 3 at Distinction and Merit.
- International Baccalaureate (IB): 36 (HL 6,5,5) to 38 (HL 6,6,6 plus SL 6,6,6).
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL and PTE to get admission to this program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- Indian School Certificate, Intermediate Certificate, Higher School Certificate, Higher Secondary Certificate, All India Senior School Certificate, and Pre-University course: (awarded on completion of Standard XII) candidates are expected to obtain a minimum average of 90% (with 90% or higher in any prerequisite subjects) in Standard XII examinations, or A1-A2 if students are taking examinations used by Central Boards.
