Flexible degree structure
We offer several Environmental Science degrees including aÊthree-year BSc degreeÊand a suite ofÊfour-year MEnvSci degrees.
We understand that you might not be sure which area of environmental science you want to specialise in, or whether you want to study to BSc or MEnvSci level.
All our students, regardless of which degree they are registered on, study the same modules for the first three years. This means you can transfer between degree programmes up until the end of Stage 2 if you want to.
Transfer from our BSc to an MEnvSci degree, and progress to Stage 4 of an MEnvSci degree, is subject to you meeting the appropriate academic standard.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students should have a high school degree AAB excluding General Studies.

While they are willing to consider any combination of A Level subjects (excluding General Studies), they prefer students to be studying two of the following:
- Business Studies
- Sociology
- Psychology
- Politics/Government and Politics
- History
- Geography
- Law
- Criminology
- Religious Education
- Philosophy
- English Literature/English Language
- Languages
- Economics
- Accounting/Finance
- Mathematics/Sciences (in combination with at least one of the above subjects)

GCSE Mathematics and English (minimum grade B or 6) required if not taken at A or AS Level.
Indian Eligibility:
- Typically Newcastle recognizes an 80% average in Standard XII as comparable to AAB at A-Level.
