The Finance programme at Birkbeck, University of Edinburgh will give students excellent, specialist knowledge and training in finance and financial economics, including basic portfolio theory, corporate finance, and pricing theory applied to derivatives and government bond markets. Students will also learn the latest econometrics and numerical analysis skills. Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university to get admission to this program.
- Students require a minimum GPA of 3 on a 4.0 scale for the program.
- Students should have a second-class honours degree (2:2) or above in a subject.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Students need to submit minimum GRE exam scores for a better chance of admission.
- Students are reviewed on their individual merits and professional qualifications and/or relevant work experience will be taken into consideration positively.
- Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.

If students are not from the UK and they do not already have residency here, students may need to apply for a visa.
The visa students apply for varies according to the length of students course:
- Courses of more than six months' duration: Student visa
- Courses of less than six months' duration: Standard Visitor visa
International students who require a Student visa should apply for their full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship. If students are living in the UK on a Student visa, they will not be eligible to enrol as a student on Birkbeck's part-time courses (with the exception of some modules).
