Master of Arts in Photography at the University of The West of England is a 15 months program.
It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
The program starts in the month of September.
The course is affiliated to and accredited by the Association of Photographers who are a leading professional organization representing photographers both nationally and internationally.
The program is taught by award-winning artists, photographers, and leading academics in the field, distinctive, practice-based.
The course includes 10 hours of contact time a week, which incorporates all the academic teaching and learning, technical workshops, and engagement with industry visitors.
The core modules of the program are:
- Enquiry and Context
- Developing Practices
- Consolidating Practices I and II
- Dissemination in Professional Contexts
MA in Photography will allow students to explore the diverse applications of the medium, and to deepen their understanding of photography as a discipline.
The course includes guest lectures, intensive week-long workshops, practice-based interactive activities, and individual portfolio reviews with professional practitioners and industry leaders, including curators, editors, publishers, producers, art buyers, agents, gallerists, and designers.
Assessment of the program includes project reviews, essays, reflective diaries, presentations, and reports, as well as assessing their portfolio of work.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students should have skills and experience in photography or related subjects.
Applicants will have an undergraduate degree but applicants with other qualifications or professional experience are also encouraged to apply.

Indian Students Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:

Students have to complete a 4-year undergraduate degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Students must complete a Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate – Standard XII from CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB: English Language with 70%. This qualification must have been completed within the last three years.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
