  • The course aims to prepare specialist community public health nursing (SCPHN) students with the knowledge, skills, and critical abilities to provide leadership and innovation in community health. 
  • Students have to Complete 60 days of consolidated practice within their defined area of practice on a full-time basis over 12 weeks.
  • The practice element of the course is divided into two parts, taught and consolidated.
  • The course is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must have the following requirements:

  • Active first-level registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) professional register.
  • 120 credits at Level 2 or above.
  • To get onto the course, students need to secure a secondment opportunity or a studentship, supported by a fixed-term contract from an employer. 
  • To secure a sponsored or seconded place from an NHS Trust or other employer, all students will need to have successfully completed an in-depth Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and have a satisfactory Occupational Health status.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they complete the following eligibility criteria:

  • Students should have a Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate (Standard XII) from boards such as CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB with 65% including grade C in at least five subjects.
  • Students with lower grades may be considered for entry onto a foundation degree.
  • Students should hold a 70% score in the English Language in Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate - Standard XII from CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
