- Students undertaking English and French at Queen’s explore Anglo- and Francophone literature and language in the widest possible sense.
- From the earliest writings in Anglo-Saxon to contemporary Irish, British, French, and postcolonial literature, students study English and French texts in their historical, cultural and ideological circumstances and material manifestations.
- Language modules in English and French explore language structure and function; the day-to-day use of the languages, including in the media; and the major influences that have shaped both linguistic traditions.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Post A-level French
ABB including A-level English and French. For applicants who have not studied A-level French then AS-level French grade B would be acceptable in lieu of A-level French. - Beginners Level French
ABB including A-level English + GCSE French grade B or evidence of linguistic ability in another language. - The Beginners' option is not available to those who have studied A-level or AS-level French.
- A minimum of a 2:2 Honours Degree provided any subject requirement
Indian students eligibility:
Applicants must have the following qualifications to be eligible for direct admission:
- Three A levels
- Between 30 and 36 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB).
- The Standard Indian XII (10+2) examinations from CBSE, CISCE or State Boards of Higher Secondary Education are acceptable for admission to their Bachelor's degree programmes.
An average mark of 70 - 85% or higher (best of 5 academic subjects) in the Standard Indian XII Higher Secondary School certificates awarded by the central boards (CBSE, CISCE) or a state board, or equivalent, with 75% or higher where subject requirements are stipulated (comparable with Grade B at A-Level).
Applicants will normally need to demonstrate a level of English equivalent to 6.5 IELTS or 90 TOEFL IBT (Internet-based test). However, some degree programmes have higher or lower requirements.
