You will also develop a broad understanding of culture in the German-speaking world, with courses in social, historical and cultural aspects of these countries, and encounter the world of German artistic expression in the form of literature, film and art, together with a deeper understanding of GermanyÕs complex history.
International Relations will set this further in context, looking closely at how nations and organisations interact and global wealth, poverty and inequality.
You will study regional and international tensions, nationalism, concepts of democracy Ð and ever-present concerns of conflict and peace.
You will be taught by internationally renowned academics with strong track records in publishing international papers and articles and who appear regularly in the media, analysing and explaining national, European and world developments from the viewpoint of their own area of expertise and research.
As an integral part of your 5-year programme, you will spend the whole of year three taking your language and cultural skills to a very high level as a teaching assistant or visiting student in Germany or Austria.
You will gain the perfect foundation for international career possibilities including international business, NGOs and international development, plus local and national government, politics and journalism, with transferable skills including critical analysis and communication ideally suited to a range of careers.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Strong performance in mathematics in previous education
- Applicants with computer science in previous education are preferred
- Personal statement should demonstrate enthusiam for the subject
- Applicants can consider taking an additional mathematics test such as STEP, MAT, GCE etc.
English Proficiency:
- IELTS: minimum 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each component
- TOEFL IBT: minimum 90 overall with 21 in each component
- Pearson: minimum 62 overall with no less than 59 in any component
- Duolingo: minimum 110 overall with sub scores of Literacy 110, Comprehension 120, Conversation 100, Production 85
Indian Student Specific Requirements:
- An average of 85% in four subjects with 90% in mathematics in Standard XII
