Devayani Patiwana
University of Warwick, BSc in Economics, Politics and International Studies
Reviewed on Oct 1, 2020(Enrolled 2019)

I always knew that the University of Warwick was the perfect fit for me - a campus university gave me the opportunity to explore the British countryside while its modern facilities reassured me that I was still in touch with the outside world. The Economics department was ranked first in the UK in 2019, making my decision to study Economics at Warwick a concrete one.

Course Curriculum

In my opinion, the Economics department at Warwick is excellent with perfect study atmospheres, updated research facilities, and guided internship resources to ensure well-rounded learning. Yes, I was provided with internship exposure, networking, and research opportunities.

Exams

I submitted a CV, LoR, and SoP. I received my LoR from the principle of my college and asked her to mention the skills that I learnt during college.

Placement

Very good, however, opportunities have to be worked for, you cannot simply walk in and get a job. Warwick provides special workshops to further your career and networking sessions with companies in order to build rapport.

Internship

No, I have yet not opted for internships.

Events

All facilities provided by the university are in excellent condition, with an extreme focus on sustainability in order to minimize environmental impact. There are more than 350 societies on campus, with the biggest university sports hub in the UK.

Fees

Faculty

10

I do not know the exact faculty-student ratio, however, each student has a personal tutor assigned to them in addition to a seminar tutor supervising approximately ten students. Professor Robin Naylor, my microeconomics professor, left a profound impact on me regarding emerging market economics, something that I plan to focus on further down in my career.

Hostel

No, I do not live on campus. I live in a neighboring student town of Leamington Spa, which is about 45 minutes away by bus.
