Royden Pires Review at London South Bank University [LSBU], London | Collegedunia

My Success Story - London South Bank University

RP
5.7 /10

A friend and relative of mine studied at the same university and provided me with positive feedback. Also, their program offered the modules that I was looking for.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum was good overall but the university changed a module at the last minute and the new module which was added was not interesting to me. Most of the modules covered up the basic of a subject area so they were not very up to date. However, the head of the department would conduct extra webinars and teach us about some latest softwares/technologies.

Exams :

Admission requirements were to obtain a minimum of 2.1 honours (atleast 60%) in your undergraduate studies and a minimum of 6.5 IELTS score. Based on the marks obtained in your undergradute studies, the university provides international students with scholarships in their offer letter. In my case, since my undergraduate score was 78% I was awarded a £4000 scholarship. About the IELTS exam, the university expects you to have a final score greater than 6.5 and a minimum of 6.0 in each section i.e Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. My final score was 7.0.

Placement :

There was no post study placement for my program. However, the university did have multiple job fairs on-campus.

Internship :

No

Events :

There are multiple activites going on that the university. From treks to indoor events. You have the oppotuinity of joining multiple clubs as long as you balance your time. The university has a separate building dedicated to the library. There are meeting rooms available in the library for booking. The WiFi available was pretty good too. Finally, the university has a great on-campus bar and cafeteria.

Fees :

£13780

Scholarship :

As mentioned previously, the university provided me with a £4000 scholarship for international students. I did not have to apply for the scholarship.

Faculty :

They had very experienced lecturers for some modules which was great but some other module lecturers were not so good. According to me, 8/10 lecturers were welcoming and approachable. They would also help you learn latest topics if one were interested.

Hostel :

The university has 4 different halls of residence for students. The prices vary at each residence. Everyone gets their own room but has a option to choose between en-suite or standard. All the prices and facilities can be found on the university website.
