New Delhi: The National Overseas Scholarship (NOS) has invited online applications for the scholarships from February 15, 2023. Aspiring candidates can register for the National Overseas Scholarship 2023 from the official website @nosmsje.in.
The Central Sector Scheme of National Overseas Scholarship is to facilitate the low-income students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Denotified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, Landless Agricultural Labourers and Traditional Artisans category to receive higher education viz., Master's degree or Ph.D. courses by studying abroad thereby improving their Economic and Social status.

Under this scholarship scheme, a total of 125 students belonging to those categories will get scholarships to study masters or PhD degree courses abroad. Interested candidates can apply online till March 31, 2023.
According to the NOS website, the portal will open from February 15 for a period of 45 days i.e. till March 31 (Mid night) for submission of online applications through the Portal.
All the desired candidates are advised to go through the Scheme Guidelines of NOS (SC) 2023-24 before submission of application (Scheme guidelines are available on the portal), the website read.
The NOS will reserve 30% of the scholarship for women candidates. Earlier, in February last year, the ministry of social justice and empowerment (MSJE) issued new guidelinesê for the NOS scheme dropping “topics and courses concerning Indian culture / heritage / history / social studies on India-based research topics”.
National Overseas Scholarship 2023 Registration: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking the NOS scholarship will have to meet the requisite eligibility criteria.
- Candidates must have passed with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying exam.
- In case of PhD courses, the exam would be Master’s degree and for master’s degree courses, the qualifying exam would be Bachelor's degree.
- In case a student has completed Bachelor's of Engineering after completing Diploma (Lateral Entry to 2nd year), percentage of marks obtained in Bachelor's degree will be considered
- Candidates should not be more than 35 years, as on the first day of April for selection year.
- The total family income should not exceed Rs 8 lakh per annum.

- Mark sheet of qualifying examination
- Valid Document regarding admission in Foreign University (Application, Registration or Admission related document)

- Employer's NOC Certificate if applicant is employed
- Gap certificate in case there is a gap of more than 6 months after completing the qualifying degree.
