The famous hip-hop Artist Snoop Dogg dropped the first ever virtual music video “House I Built” produced in the Sandbox Metaverse. The Sandbox and Animoca announced the news on 31st March, 2022.
Later this year, Snoop Dogg will also helm his Debut Metaverse Concert, also in The Sandbox. His song “House I Built” featured in his latest album, BODR, which dropped via Death Row Records in February.
Snoop Dogg appeared as a voxel avatar in the visual, which features Blondish along with Steve Aoki, and was made using VoxEdit and GameMaker, The Sandbox’s free user-generated content creation tools. The Dogg explained how the track draws parallel between how he has constructed his life and career and how he is building out his Snoopverse virtual world in The Sandbox. He said, “Whether in the universe or the metaverse, it’s about keeping it real, being yourself and making the most of every opportunity.”
Arthur Madrid, Co-founder and CEO of The Sandbox said in a statement, “We are building a new entertainment platform where artists, talents of all kinds and brands can access a new generation of consumers that own and collect digital platforms like LAND and digital memorabilia. Today in The Sandbox, Snoop Dogg is building Snoopverse, a place where his avatar can perform exclusive concerts only accessible to his fans,”
“Snoop’s new, first-of-its-kind, metaverse music video ‘House I Built’ provides a tangible example today but there is more coming very soon.” he added.
Platforms like The Sandbox are gradually gaining traction among musicians and content creators, thanks to their user-friendly features and play-to-earn blockchain version, which allows users to create their own avatars and access the crypto-driven metaverse's numerous locations, hubs, and games.
