For the past 2 years, the Indian Premier League has been played in the United Arab (UAE) due to the outbreak of COVID-19, but the IPL 2022 is being played in India. In IPL 15 there are a total of 10 teams which is exciting for IPL or Indian Premier League fans. 

Only 8 teams had played the IPL matches last year namely, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The top 4 teams in the IPL points table will face off against each other in the semi-finals. The semi-final will be held in two parts. The first match of the semi-finals will be held between the 1st and 2nd team in the points table while for the second semi-finals match, the 3rd and 4th team in the points table will face each other. The winner from semi-final match one will face the winner of match 2 in the finals. The winner of the final match will be crowned the IPL 2022 winner. 

IPL Broadcasting Rights

IPL Broadcasting Rights are set by the BCCI to give rights to media teams for Broadcasting IPL matches. Star Sports has picked up the composite rights for 5 years till 2022 for INR 16,347 crore and has the rights to broadcast till IPL 2022. BCCI has released the tender for IPL broadcasting rights or media rights for the next 5 years i.e. from 2023 to 2028. 

IPL Broadcasting Rights include the rights to telecast IPL both in India and the world on TV and digital platforms. The rights are divided into 4 sets/ buckets by BCCI, namely Television Rights for IPL in India, Digital rights for the Property in India, Right for 18 games including opener and 4 play offs, and oversea TV and Digital Rights. E-auctions are conducted for each bucket, the e-auctions for 2023-2028 will be conducted on 12 June, 2022 which will be announced on the same day.
