Remember the times when you just couldn’t wait to grow up? As kids, we just never realized how tough life would be when we become adults. We were in our own world of imagination and thinking that it will be all fun in partying and earning money. Pfft! Kids, amirite?
Once you leave behind your teenage years, life is not the same anymore. When you’re a kid, nobody really expects anything huge from you, you’re easily excused even if you mess up everything. I wonder why we were always so excited to grow up and take a hell lot of responsibilities on our little shoulders. Was it awesome? Of course not! Kids, there’s a small piece of advice for you. Don’t Grow Up, Its a Trap! It’s a nightmare and sadly you won’t be having any class to teach you about all the things that will hit you very hard.
But If you have already grown up, High Five to you! Here, we present some of the things you would totally relate to when adulting hits you hard:
Most of the time we end up saying “Sorry, I’m busy” to a friend who has made an amazing plan to go out when in reality we are only spending our night on the couch watching Netflix. Let’s be honest and face it! Eating on the couch sounds way better than eating at a fancy restaurant. Welcome to Adulthood!
Remember the time when you used to beg your parents to let you stay up for that ‘ONE EXTRA’ hour? Oh! Bed, now I’m just sorry about neglecting you at that time. My Dear Friend, I wanna take it all back!
During high school or college, we all have many friends but once we start adulting, our friend list soon gets shrunk to just 1 or 2 best buddies that we can probably rely on.
Let’s confess, being an adult is really hard! There are so many bills to pay that we can’t even count them all on one hand. I wonder when did everything become so expensive?
If you have started thinking about settling down and getting married then my friend, adulting is hitting really hard. All the best for that!
This simply reminds us of the time when our mom used to say “ You’ll get to know once you grow up”. During childhood, we all took it for granted but it’s hitting hard when we have to do all this stuff on our own. Correct?
Deciding what we’re going to eat for the week up ahead with a small budget and trying to be healthy along with that is also an added task. Making lists, buying things and then paying bills is really a big thing to do.
Emails that aren't from the stores you shop at? There is such a thing as emails other than that? This is when we get to experience adulting professionally! And Yeah! You have to start taking your emails seriously and read them religiously.
I’m still figuring out the reason behind not teaching us how to do our taxes in school. We are always in doubt about have we filed them correctly or not. Like Seriously! We have to give taxes from our paycheck and then we pay even more during the tax season. This is probably the worst part of being an adult.
Sometimes, we are so lost in our busy schedules that we might even forget about what we really want to do in life.
The best thing we learned is obviously the value of money. ‘Hard Earned Money’ is something we all know by now. I hope I’m right! Now, you buy yourself a small thing and you are happy with that too.
But don’t worry friends! Being an adult does come up with numerous privileges too as there’s always a good side to everything.
