National University of Singapore (NUS) is one of the top universities in the entire world. The feel of being in the best of the best gives me confidence and motivation. Moreover, I wanted to settle in Singapore thus NUS was the right answer. The University has amazing facilities with amazing professors with extremely smart individuals. I wanted to learn the different perspectives students of other races had.

Course Curriculum

8

At NUS we are allocated one semester of internship (6 months) during Year 3. The courses are somewhat relevant as some basic teachings are definetly useful. However, since different internship requires different specific knowledge it is hard for universities to dive into depth concepts. NUS attempts to fill this void by giving us various options to pick from under technical electives which consists of depth and breadth modules.

Exams

CBSE Board Exams: 94% Overall - 95 and above in all subjects SAT Exams: Around 750 out 800 in PCM

Placement

10

NA but we are told that the starting pay for computer engineering students are 4k SGD. NUS is a highly reputable school and is the best in Singapore thus we have a slight advantage in getting a job opportunity post graduate

Internship

I interned at Pragma Strategy, a cyber security firm. I got this internship through a friend :) thus having connections is extremely useful. Amount for internships are usually around 1k.

Scholarship

None

Faculty

8

10:1 male to female. Computer Engineering mostly consists of male students. Most of the professors are Asian and some are from Europe. Most of them are approachable. Based on my experience they were nice enough to reply to my doubts and admin related mails. There are many professors who have left an impact namely Prof Ravi, Prof Henry and Prof Winnie Chua.

Campus Life

I do not stay on campus as the campus life is not as lively as pre-covid according to my friends. Therefore, I do not know much about campus life. The clubs are quite fun to join as they are active and fun. However, it is really hard to gauge due to Covid season where most of the activities are done through zoom.
