University of Adelaide Global Citizens Scholarship

The University of Adelaide Global Citizens Scholarship is offered to international students commencing coursework programs at the institution. With a few subject area/ field restrictions, the scholarship is applicable for graduate and undergraduate programs at University of Adelaide.

  • Shortlisted students get a tuition fee waiver of 15% to 30%, depending upon their academic merit.
  • No additional scholarship application required; admission applications are reviewed for scholarship purposes.
  • University of Adelaide Global Citizens Scholarship is renewable for the minimum duration of the chosen program.
  • Selections are primarily based on the academic grades received in the previous level of education.
    • ATAR equivalent score above 80 for UG program

  • The scholarship is not applicable to the university’s professional, certificate, diploma, veterinary programs.

Recipients must note that the University of Adelaide Global Citizens Scholarship payment will be made directly into a recipient’s tuition fees account for the duration of study.

Eligibility Criteria

Since the University of Adelaide Global Citizens Scholarship is a merit-based program, the eligibility requirements are entirely based on the academic qualification of applicants in their previous level of education.

Several programs are exempted from the Global Citizens Scholarship such as MBAGraduate Diploma of Marine Engineering, Master of Viticulture and Oenology, Bachelor of Health and Medical Science, etc.


Application Process

No separate application is required for the University of Adelaide Global Citizens Scholarship. All the international students who have taken admissions at the University of Adelaide are automatically considered for the program. 

Therefore, Global Citizens Scholarship application process is the same as the admission process, which is

  • Explore the undergraduate/postgraduate program and verify its eligibility.
  • Access the online application form on the university website or approach the university agent in your region.
  • Submit the required student supporting documents:
    • Exams taken to study in Australia such as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE
    • Academic transcripts and their certified English translations
    • Personal essay and Letter(s) of recommendation
    • Resume highlighting work experience (if required)

Applicants must note that they have to submit their admission application before time, else they will not be considered for the admission. 


Selection Process

Students are shortlisted for the University of Adelaide Global Citizens Scholarship if they meet the minimum ATAR/GPA requirement at the time of admission. While the scholarships are majorly awarded on the basis of the academic merit, the selection committee may evaluate other factors during the shorlisting process. These include

  • Choice of undergraduate/postgraduate program
  • English proficiency test score
  • LORs and personal essay

Additionally, students must have been admitted into the program before the closing deadline of the scholarship. Post the closing deadline, no other candidates will be considered.


Grant Details

The University of Adelaide is one of the top universities in Australia offering more then 200 undergraduate and graduate programs to international students. Once students have accepted their offer letters to study at the full-time program, they are considered automatically for the University of Adelaide Global Citizens  Scholarship.

Candidates who are chosen to be a recipient of the scholarship will receive a tuition waiver for the entire program.
