Global Academic Excellence Scholarship- University of Adelaide

The University of Adelaide offers many scholarships to students who wish to pursue higher education in Australia. One such scholarship is the Global Academic Excellence Scholarship given to international students by the University of Adelaide.

  • International students taking admission to the University of Adelaide for UG and PG programs can apply for this scholarship.
  • The scholarship is a highly competitive award and rewards students who demonstrate excellent academic achievement in the previous course works.
  • Recipients are automatically considered for the scholarship, one does not have to file a separate application.

The Global Academic Excellence Scholarship offers a reduction of 50% in the tuition fee to students enrolled in the full-time duration of the chosen UG and PG degree. The student must demonstrate extraordinary academic excellence in order to be selected for the program.

Eligibility Criteria

The student is considered for the scholarship upon application or enrollment in their desired field of study at UG and PG level. The applicant must meet all the admission requirements at the University of Adelaide for the course work. The application must contain all the required documents and must be error-free.

The academic eligibility for the scholarship is:

  • Raw ATAR of 98 OR 95% (for UG level)
  • GPA 6.8 on 7.0 OR equivalent (for PG level)

Applicants who are not eligible to receive Global Academic Excellence Scholarship scholarships are:

  • Students who are transferring from one program to another prior to the successful completion of their program of study (internal transfers);
  • Students who are recipients of a scholarship awarded by recognized bodies such as a government ministry or department;
  • Applicants for Masters by Research or Ph.D. programs.

Application Process

It is not necessary to apply for the University of Adelaide Global Academic Excellence Scholarship because this scholarship will be automatically awarded to students who meet the eligibility requirements. No separate Scholarship application form is required. Scholarship recipients will be confirmed at the point of acceptance.

A list of eligible students will be provide to faculties for selection of scholarships. Successful applicants will be advised in writing within fourteen days of faculty approval.

  • Satisfactory completion of Year 12 or AISSC/ ISC or GCE Advanced Level Examination for UG admissions
  • Satisfactory completion of Bachelors degree or its equivalent for PG admissions

Students must provide test scores of ELP test like IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or C1 Advanced


Selection Process

The selection process for the Global Academic Excellence Scholarship scholarship is competitive. The main criteria for scholarship selection are academic achievement.

Students are expected to have excellent academic performance in their previous course work. Students are selected based on their scores at high school or undergraduate level.

A student must have a score equivalent to that of ATAR 98 and GPA 6.8 for UG and PG levels, respectively, in order to increase their chances of getting selected for the scholarship.

Applicants who are eligible for more than one scholarship offered by the university will receive only one scholarship.


Grant Details

The Global Academic Excellence Scholarship does not cover the costs of visas, Overseas Student Health Cover, travel, accommodation, living expenses, or any other such costs. It is given to waive off tuition fees only. Only two students having the highest score from each faculty will be awarded the 50% reduction of the tuition fee.

Meeting the academic eligibility requirements does not guarantee to receive the award. Successful applicants will be notified within two weeks of the scholarship closing date. Selected students must accept their award within 14 days of receiving the scholarship, otherwise, it will be awarded to the next deserving candidate.

Students enrolled in UG and PG programs at the University of Adelaide can avail of the benefits of scholarship if selected. The scholarship holder must be enrolled in full-time courses and required to maintain good academic standing and progress.

The University reserves the right to vary the awards, withdraw or not to offer scholarships under specific conditions. The scholarship holder Students may get a chance to participate in a photoshoot and complete a testimonial for the University, which may be published on the website.
