Ashok Khurana Scholarship

Ashok Khurana Scholarship for Outstanding Indian Students is awarded to meritorious Indian students commencing a postgraduate program. The scholarship is eligible for specific academic subjects at the university such as aerospace, education, clean technology, etc. 

  • This scholarship has been established by Professor Ashok Khurana to support the post-graduate education of an outstanding Indian student. 
  • The scholarship is valued at $30,000, payable towards the recipient's airfares, living expenses and tuition fees. The successful applicant may also receive a 50% discount on the tuition fees for the duration of their program
  • A separate scholarship application must be submitted before Jan 27,2023.
  • Eligible students must have completed their previous education in India and must have obtained at least 65% in bachelor program.
  • Selections are based on factors like academic merit and leadership skills.

Ashok Khurana Scholarship for Outstanding Indian Students covers more than just the tuition fees. The recipients of the scholarship can use the award amount for airfare and other living expenses of pursuing higher education in Australia

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for the Ashok Khurana Scholarship, applicants must have their admission letter to the University of Adelaide. The other eligibility requirements for the scholarship are:

  • Be enrolled on a full time basis
  • Be an international student with Indian Citizenship not currently studying in Australia and/or residing in Australia on a Student, Bridging or any other visa.
  • Commencement of master’s program at the University of Adelaide in same session and years as the scholarship.
  • Students must be pursuing a postgraduate program in one of the following academic areas:
    • Education
    • Agriculture (including Food Security and Wine)
    • Health Services (including Biotechnology)
    • Clean Technology
    • Environment (including Urban Planning and Architecture)
    • Aerospace
    • Resources
  • Students must have achieved over 65% in the undergraduate degree program.

Note:- Candidates who have either applied for or will apply for Australian permanent resident status will not be eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Applications for the University of Adelaide Ashok Khurana Scholarship accepted in the online mode only. To apply to this scholarship, candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps in order:

  2. Click on the ‘Apply Online’ button.
  3. Fill the application form completely and correctly.
  4. Attach the required documents in PDF format with the online application.
  5. Submit the completed application and all the necessary documents much before the deadline.

  • Noncustodial parent asset and income
  • Citizenship documents

Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:

  • Academic merit (GPA)
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and potential to significantly enhance India
  • Answers to questions on the application form

Overall, every Ashok Khurana Scholarship application must strongly reflect an applicant’s suitability for the scholarship and the ability to enhance educational outcomes in the chosen field. 

Note: Maintaining the ‘international student’ status for the entire duration of the Ashok Khurana Scholarship. The scholarship will be terminated if a student changes his/ her residency status.
