Zayed University Undergraduate Scholarships

Zayed University offers multiple scholarship programs for its undergraduate international students. These programs are conducted at the start of each academic year. The scholarship amount received by the selected candidates acts as a partial fee waiver from the tuition fee of Zayed University.

There are three types of undergraduate scholarships

  1. Undergraduate Merit-based Scholarships- The program is meant for students with excellent academic scores. They are judged on the performance of their final year in school. It may cover up to 50% of the tuition fee for the selected candidates.
  2. Undergraduate Family Grant- meant for families with more than one child enrolled in the UG programs at Zayed University. It covers 25% of the tuition fee for every child after the first one.
  3. Undergraduate Tuition Fee Discount for Children of ZU Employees- this program is meant for children of employees that are currently working at Zayed University. It covers 50% of the tuition fee of their child. However, the kids will lose their scholarship if the contract of their parents ends.

Note: None of these scholarship programs can be put together with another scholarship program.

Eligibility Criteria

These scholarships are only offered to candidates commencing UG programs at Zayed University. All these applicants must fulfill the given criteria to be eligible for a scholarship:

  • For Undergraduate Merit-based Scholarships:
    • Minimum average of 95% or equivalent
    • Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 (with no band less than 5.5) or TOEFL-iBT score of 80.
    • Must provide 4-6 hours/week on the on-campus work assignments
  • For Undergraduate Family Grant Scholarships: More than one child of a family must be enrolled at Zayed University’s undergraduate programs.
  • For Children of Employees Scholarship: Must be a child of a current employee at Zayed University.

Application Process

Students who wish to apply for scholarships at Zayed University must first log in to ZU e-services. After logging in, students must select the scholarship request and fill in its application form. Following documents must be attached to the application form for it to be successful.

  • High School Diploma
  • English proficiency test scores: IELTS /TOEFL Certificate
  • Salary letter or financial statement of student’s guardian
  • Passport and visa copy
  • Personal photograph
  • Letter of recommendation from previous school.
  • Essay of personal achievements/ community services

  • Proof of academic achievements (Merit Scholarship)
  • For Family Grant:
    • ZU ID of the elder child
    • Passport copy for both children
    • Birth certificates for both children
  • For ZU Employee Scholarship
    • Birth certificate
    • ZU Staff/ Faculty ID
    • ‘To whom it may concern’ from Zayed University HR department

Selection Process

All the scholarship applications are reviewed by the scholarship committee of Zayed University on an annual basis. This committee is appointed by the Vice-President at the University. Some important factors that are considered while selecting candidates are:

  • Academic performance of the students in high school.
  • Parents working as employees of Zayed University
  • Families in need of help that have more than one child studying at ZU UG-level
  • Documents submitted in the scholarship application process

Grant Details

The Undergraduate Scholarships of Zayed University are open for all international students who fit in the scholarship eligibility criteria. The scholarships work as financial aid to help students in paying their tuition fees. These are given to those students who are either academically excellent or whose families are connected with ZU.
