Loughborough University International Scholarships

The scholarship programs are open to all the international students taking admission in eligible postgraduate courses. There no stringent eligibility criteria, the only requirements which the students need to fulfill are:

• Should be a full-time fee paying student, commencing studies in the UK on Tier 4 student visa.
• Not receiving any other tuition fee waiver or scholarship from any other source.
• Meet all prerequisites for obtaining PG admission at Loughborough University.
  • 60% in undergraduate studies.
  • Submit academic transcripts, LORs, SOP
• Establish English language proficiency.
  • IELTS: 6.5
  • TOEFL-iBT: 92
  • PTE: 62
• All of our programmes will require AAA from three A levels (or equivalent qualification*) with the exception of the following programmes, which require A*AA:
  • MEng Aeronautical Engineering
  • MEng Automotive Engineering
  • MEng Mechanical Engineering
  • BSc Sport and Exercise Science
  • MSci Natural Sciences
• Only self-funded international applicants selecting Loughborough University as their firm (first) choice through UCAS will be eligible for these scholarships. They are also subject to the academic conditions being met in full and taken in one sitting (no resits).
• If an applicant wishes to defer their application to the next academic year, then the scholarship award will not automatically be deferred. In this situation, the applicant should contact the International Office who will confirm whether the scholarship will be available the following year.

International applicants are automatically considered for a Loughborough University International Scholarship on the basis of their initial application made through UCAS.

Successful applicants will be advised if they are being awarded a scholarship soon after they receive their offer communication from the University’s Admissions Office.

Selections are done on the basis of several factors, but primarily on the basis of academic merit. Some other factors are:

• IELTS/ TOEFL score
• GRE/GMAT test score
• Statement of Purpose/ motivation letter

In addition to that, the selection committee caters to student’s commitment towards the subject area, community and institution. The winners of Loughborough University International Scholarships are informed within 4 to 6 weeks of filing their application.

Note: The candidates who are chosen to receive the tuition fee credit are given the amount after they join the university straight into their accounts.
