Application Process

Students do not have to make a separate application for scholarships, as they will be automatically considered when they make a course application.

  • When you receive an email from the university stating your successful admission, you will find out whether you have been awarded a scholarship, which may be the Postgraduate Scholarship or any other.
  • Students who had a GPA of 90% or above may receive the Swinburne International Excellence Postgraduate Scholarship instead, which is of more value than this one.

This scholarship is not strictly merit-based and is generally awarded by looking at how well you meet the course requirements.

Grant Details

The George Swinburne Postgraduate Scholarship is named after the founder of the Swinburne University of Technology, and is aimed at promoting more international students to pursue their career aspirations at the university.

  • George Swinburne believed that education must be accessible for all and hence the university extends the offer of fee reduction to students doing Masters-level courses.
  • The 30% fee waiver is applicable for semesters 1 and 2 of the particular course, as long as the student continues to maintain eligibility.

In the situation that international students are unable to take classes on campus, or even go to Australia due to Covid-19 restrictions, the scholarship will still be applicable to them for doing their course online.
