Sydney Vice-Chancellor International Scholarship

Sydney Vice-Chancellor International Scholarship is designed to reward the meritorious international students. The scholarship scheme is applicable to the full-time coursework programs at the University of Sydney.

  • Recipients will be awarded 5,000 AUD to 40,000 AUD, depending upon their rank.
  • Australian citizens/permanent residents are NOT eligible for the Sydney Vice-Chancellor International Scholarship.
  • Applicable for all UG and PG programs at the University of Sydney
  • For ongoing eligibility, recipients must maintain a Semester Average Marks (SAM) of 65.

The university doesn’t ask applicants to complete an additional scholarship application as they will be auto-considered. For the upcoming session, applications must submit their admission applications before April 14, 2023 (For Semester 2, 2023).

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Sydney Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship applicants fulfill the eligibility criteria given below:

  • International student, present in Australia on a student visa.
  • Enrolling for a full-time UG or PG coursework program.
  • Submitted proof of English language proficiency
    • IELTS: 6.5
    • TOEFL-iBT: 96
    • TOEFL-PBT: 592
  • Confirmation of admission to the chosen program at the University of Sydney.

Application Process

To apply for the Sydney Vice Chancellor's International Scholarship, students just have to complete an application for their chosen Bachelor's or Master's program. No separate application is required.

The deadline for the upcoming UG and PG admissions at the University of Sydney is April 14, 2023.

The selection committee at the University of Sydney Comprises of nominees of the Executive Director, Admissions Office, and Global Student Recruitment.

Four Sydney Vice Chancellor's International Scholarship amounts are distributed based on a ranking against the evaluation criteria:
