President’s Scholars of Excellence Program

President’s Scholars of Excellence Program, available at the University of Toronto, is designed for students beginning their UG studies. The scholarship program is applicable for both domestic and international students (present on the Canadian student visa).

  • Annually, 90 new students are rewarded under the President’s Scholars of Excellence Program.
  • Recipients receive 10,000 CAD at the time of commencement of their Toronto UG program.
  • Confirmed on-campus employment in the second year of study.

No separate applications are required for the President’s Scholars of Excellence Program.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the President’s Scholars of Excellence Program are as follow:

The university does not have any specifications in terms of citizenship and residency. Both international and domestic students are eligible to apply for the scholarship.


Application Process

The University of Toronto does not require any extra application to be filled or fees paid to participate in the President’s Scholars of Excellence Program.

Any student applying for an undergraduate degree (for which the scholarship is tenable) with an outstanding performance in senior secondary is automatically considered for the scholarship.


Selection Process

Selections of the recipients of the President’s Scholars of Excellence Program are primarily based on academic performance.

The committee analyses the previous grades of each applicant in high school.


Grant Details

In the first year, recipients are provided with a scholarship of 10000 CAD at the time of the full registration in the tenable department.

In the second year, the students are provided with on-campus jobs, with a maximum of 15 hours per week. The jobs are mostly research jobs and are work-study postings. Anyone can apply at the jobs but the students from the program are prioritized.
