UCC Excellence Scholarship Masters

UCC Excellence Scholarship Masters offers eleven scholarships to students with excellent academic records at the University College Cork(UCC). Both domestic and international students wish to pursue Taught Masters or the MRes in colleges like the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and the Social Sciences at UCC are eligible to apply.

  • The scholarship offered is for one year full-time or two years part-time only.
    • There will be no extension in the duration of time for the scholarship.
  • If the taught program is for two years then the scholarship can be renewed again based on the academic records of the recipients.
  • The funding will only cover the EU fee, so Non-EU recipients will be responsible for the balance.

Applications for academic year 2022/23 are now CLOSED.

Applications for academic year 2023/24 will open in May 2023.

Eligibility Criteria

UCC Excellence Scholarship Masters is available for candidates who are willing to pursue their Masters or postgraduate degree at University College Cork. In addition to that, applicants must fulfill the eligibility requirements listed below:

  • International applicants must have at least acquired a Second class Honours grade 1.
  • Must have already applied for their chosen Masters or MRes course at UCC.
  • Must have excellent academic records

Application Process

Candidates must submit an external application for UCC Excellence Scholarship Masters.

However, they must have applied for Masters or MRes at the university before they apply for UCC Excellence Scholarship Masters.

The complete application form along with the referee’s report must be submitted via email to graduateschool.cacsss@ucc.ie


Selection Process

The selection process for the scholarship starts after applications are received. It is based on academic merit and referee reports submitted by the candidates


Grant Details

Students who wish to study in Ireland at UCC are eligible to apply for the UCC Excellence Scholarship Masters. The scholarship is available for Masters and MRes courses at UCC only.

A total of 11 scholarships are awarded. The funding will cover the amount of tuition fees for domestic students, the remaining amount has to be paid by the recipients.
