Eligibility Criteria

Prospective candidates must fulfill the following requirements to be eligible for Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarships :

An individual who is a current Australian citizen or a permanent resident, or possesses citizenship of New Zealand is not eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarships.

  • Continue to be an international student liable for international student fees
  • Pay their portion of the tuition fees on or before the payment due date (first day of teaching) of each semester
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress each semester with a minimum GPA of 5.3 and with no fail grade in any unit
  • Maintain a full-time enrolment of 40 credit points (0.5 EFTSL) each semester or have the approval to reduce their study load or take a leave of absence for the semester

Application Process

To be in the running to receive a CDU Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarship from the university, candidates are required to download the application form from the official website and submit it before the last date of applications.

All the applications must submit their Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarships (VCIHAS) application by 11:59 p.m. ACST on the deadlines.

  • An applicant for VCIHAS must submit the scholarship application along with the admission application for a degree program at CDU.
  • Additionally, the applicant must attach the following documents-
    • two referee reports, with their details and work contact number and email
    • scholarship essay

NOTE: The referee must be belonging to the applicant’s professional or academic background. The candidates can download the ‘Referee’s Report‘ from the official website.


Selection Process

The selection criteria for awarding the Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarships depends upon factors such as-

  • Academic scores in highest completed qualification
  • The scholarship essay or the supporting statement
  • Referees reports submitted along with the application

After the submission of the applications for admissions to CDU Australia and the VCIHAS, the candidates are analyzed on the basis of information provided in the applications. The selected candidates are then notified by the university in due course of time, tentatively within a month after the closing date of application.

NOTE: the decision made by the selection panel is final and binding and under no circumstances shall it be reversed or modified.

The CDU Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarships is awarded by Charles Darwin University Australia. Scholarship amount varies between 50% or 25% of the tuition fee for the complete duration of the program.

The scholarship is awarded to international students who want to study in Australia in an undergraduate or graduate program at CDU. To retain the CDU Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarships

To retain the scholarship, the awardee must-

  • Pay the remaining tuition fees on or before the payment due date
  • Maintain a full-time enrolment of 40 credit points in every consecutive semester
  • Maintain a competent academic record with pass marks in all subjects and a minimum GPA of 5.3 throughout the semesters
