Griffith University Family Scholarship

Griffith University Family Scholarship is offered to international students whose family members are currently a student or alumni of the university.

  • Only International Fee Paying students can qualify for the scholarship program.
  • Recipients will receive 1000 AUD for the first trimester after deduction.
  • Application for UG and PG courses must be made by January 16, 2023, for Trimester II.

Prospective applicants must note that Griffith University Family Scholarship is awarded only to students who take admission in UG or PG program at Griffith University.

Eligibility Criteria

An eligible applicant for the Griffith University Family Scholarship is the one who fulfills all the requirements given below:

  • International students present in Australia on a student visa.
  • Evidence that a sibling, parent, or child is a current student or graduate of Griffith University.
  • Conditional or unconditional offer admission at the Griffith University.
  • Enrolling as a full-time student in a UG or PG coursework degree.
  • Fulfilling the English language proficiency requirements:
    • IELTS score: 6.5
    • TOEFL IBT: 79
    • TOEFL PBT: 575
    • PTE: 58

Application Process

To apply for the Griffith University Family Scholarship, family members of a student/alumni should make an application for any of the UG or PG programs offered by Griffith University.

Once the admission is granted, eligible students must use the online application portal to apply for the scholarship. Students must do the following:

  • Visit the Griffith University 'Scholarships for International Students' page click on the 'Applications Open' tab.
  • Complete the 'Scholarships and Finance Application form'.
  • Complete the following sections with the correct information:
    • Personal details
    • Academic information
    • Select scholarship
    • Checklist

Students must use the 'How to apply' tab to make an online application for international students.


Selection Process

Selections of the Griffith University Family Scholarship are primarily based on the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria. The committee shortlists applicants and from different faculties.

When admission is granted, students should apply for the scholarship and they'll be evaluated on the basis of their scholarship form and academic achievements. An interview might or might not take place, depending on the choice of program.


Grant Details

Griffith University Family Scholarship will be given to eligible family members of students and alumni of Griffith University. 1000 AUD will be deducted from the first-trimester tuition fee of the scholarship recipients.

Students applying for Griffith Art courses, need to submit a portfolio of their work.

Terms and Conditions for Griffith University Family Scholarship

  • Griffith University UG and PG entry requirements apply.
  • The scholarship applies to UG or PG coursework tuition fees only.
  • One payment of 1000 AUF will be deducted from tuition fees, in the first trimester of the program’s first year.
  • Students should be International Fee Paying students, to qualify for the scholarship perks.
    • Any change may result in the scholarship being withdrawn.
  • Recipients must be enrolled full-time (40 CP) to receive the tuition fee waiver unless credit prevents full-time enrolment.
  • In case a student withdraws or cancels for any reason, the scholarship amount is non-refundable.
  • Deferral of the scholarship is allowed for a maximum of one trimester only, or one year for programs which have one entry point per year.

Applicants are suggested to apply for the Griffith University Family Scholarship as early as possible. The university will not entertain late applications.
