The University of Limerick India PG Scholarships is awarded by the University of Limerick. The scholarships are awarded to Indian applicants looking forward to pursuing their studies in Ireland.

  • Awarded to students taking admission in specified courses under the university’s:
    • Kemmy Business School
    • Faculty of Science and Engineering
    • Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science
    • Faculty of Education and Health Science
  • Award amount ranging from €1,500 to €4,000 is awarded based on the faculty
  • Applicants fulfilling the admission requirements for a postgraduate program at the University of Limerick are eligible
  • The scholarship awarded is against the tuition fees only and is automatically deducted from the tuition fees amount

Applicants are not required to fill a separate scholarship application for the University of Limerick India PG Scholarships. The admission applications submitted by an applicant to study in Ireland at the University of Limerick are automatically considered for the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the University of Limerick India PG Scholarships, applicants must fulfill the following admission requirements:

  • must be a citizen of India
  • must enroll for a specified full- time postgraduate course at the University of Limerick under-
    • Kemmy Business School
    • Faculty of Science and Engineering
    • Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science
    • Faculty of Education and Health Science
  • must have completed his/her bachelor’s degree from a recognized university of college
  • must fulfill the English language proficiency criteria
  • must be a full-fee paying student

A confirmed admission is required in a full-time postgraduate course at the university under one of the faculties mentioned.


Application Process

The applicants for the University of Limerick India PG Scholarships do not need separate scholarship applications. Applicants are automatically considered for a scholarship upon successfully completing the applications for admission to the University of Limerick.

To seek admission in the full-time postgraduate program the applicant has to submit an online application. Applicants are required to submit the supplemental documents that include:

  • Academic transcripts
  • Proof of English proficiency scores
  • Proof of Finances, etc.

The students can avail of only one scholarship and are not allowed to accept any outside scholarship or grant during the study period at the University of Limerick. If the student will accept any outside grant or scholarship, the University of Limerick India PG Scholarship will be withdrawn by the university.


Selection Process

The selection of recipients for the University of Limerick India PG Scholarship is based on merit. The Scholarship Committee screens the applications at the time of admission and makes a scholarship offer along with the admission offer based on the information provided by the applicant for seeking admission to the particular course.


Grant Details

Awarded by the University of Limerick, the India PG Scholarships are awarded to applicants who are citizens of India wanting to study in Ireland. Awarded as a tuition fee waiver, the scholarship amount is deducted automatically from the recipient’s tuition fee.

The scholarship amount differs on the basis of the fields of study. The amount awarded depends on the applicant's grade. The table below shows the scholarships according to the faculty or department-

Kemmy Business School Scholarships €1,500 or €4,000
Faculty of Science and Engineering Scholarships €2,000 or €4,000
Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science Scholarships €2,000 per year
Faculty of Education and Health Science Scholarships EHS MSc in Nursing Scholarship- €3,000; Other EHS Program Scholarship- €1,500 per year

The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science Scholarships and EHS Program Scholarship are awarded per year while the others are a one-time payment.

The EHS Program Scholarships are available for Indian students enrolled in Limerick’s program such as-

  • MA in Psychology
  • M.Sc in Psychological Science
  • M.Sc in Sports Performance
  • M.Sc in Sports Exercise & Performance

The scholarships provided cannot be clubbed with any other scholarship or grant received from outside or within the university. Each applicant can avail of only one scholarship.

Terms and Conditions

  • Scholarship is available only for the enrolled program and cannot be transferred to any other program.
  • Award amount needs to be utilized in the year for which it is awarded as it cannot be deferred to a later date or course.
  • Recipient must accept to participate in promotional programs to internationalize the university and its programs.
  • Scholarship amount is deducted directly from the tuition fees of the receiver.
  • Remaining tuition fees needs to be deposited with the university before the course commences.

Upon successfully getting accepting to the university and receiving the scholarship offer, applicants must pay the tuition fee and apply for a valid student visa to Ireland.
