ANU Study Canberra India Scholarship

ANU Study Canberra India Scholarships are a joint venture of Australian National University and Study Canberra. This scholarship scheme is developed especially for meritorious Indian residents who have studied in India immediately prior to applying to ANU.

The scholarship is jointly funded by the Australian National University and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Government. Every year, up to five scholarships may be offered annually to eligible in Indian students admitted to UG or PG level program at Australian National University.

Benefits of ANU Study Canberra India Scholarship

Selections are made based on academic merit and scholarship applications. SOP submitted by the applicant is one of the key deciding factors.
The scholarship award covers the living cost of the scholarship recipients studying at the Australian National University.
Awardees receive a total of 10,000 AUD per year. The scholarship amount is distributed in two installments.
The first installment of 1,704 USD is paid at the time of enrollment itself. The remaining amount is released after the census date of the first semester that the student is enrolled.

Eligibility Criteria

The Australian National University follows strict eligibility criteria for ANU Study Canberra India Scholarship. As per the guidelines, eligible candidates will be the ones who fulfill all the requirements mentioned below:

Holds Indian citizenship
Completed of the most recent degree/certificate/diploma from an Indian institution.
Enrolled in a single/double UG or PG program at Australian National University.
Consistent academic results in secondary or undergraduate level.
Received an unconditional offer admission to the ANU before the deadline of the scholarship.

Note: A spouse or a dependent, of an employee of diplomatic or consular missions, may apply for this scholarship at the graduate level. However, such applicants are not permitted to apply for this scholarship at the undergraduate level.

Application Process

Eligible candidates have to apply for the ANU Study Canberra India Scholarship separately from their admission applications.

The scholarship application process is entirely electronic and must be completed by the closing dates set by the Division of Student Recruitment and published on the ANU website.

Selection Process

A selection committee comprises of the Student Recruitment (or nominee), the Regional Manager or Manager, International Recruitment, the Manager International Admissions, and a representative from Study Canberra. It is chaired by the Associate Director.

Selection for the ANU Study Canberra India Scholarship is intensely competitive and only the very best candidates are considered for the award. Students are selected based on their academic excellence and scholarship application.

On getting selected for the scholarship, a student gets an offer letter for the same, in which the scholarship amount is stated.

Note: Depending upon the applicant pool, it is within the rights of the selection committee to alter the number of awards or even refuse to award any scholarship.

The scholarship is meant for one fully loaded semester of 24 credits. Recipients are responsible for incurring the expenses of their tuition fees, supplies, accommodation and miscellaneous expenses for the duration of their program at ANU.

Terms and Conditions

Recipients of this scholarship are not allowed to simultaneously hold any other scholarships, awards, grants, and bursaries.
Any breach of academic and conduct related requirements shall result in the cancellation of the scholarship.
Recipients who fail to comply with the scholarship guidelines may be asked to refund the scholarship award received.

Students who receive this award may be required to participate in its publicity and may be required to appear for interviews and a photograph session under the aegis the Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Office of the University.
