Eligibility Criteria

The Hague University of Applied Sciences has set certain eligibility criteria to apply for the World Citizen Talent Scholarship. Applicant must be:

  • an international student residing outside the Netherlands
  • enrolling for the first time in a Master’s program at the Hague University of Applied Sciences.
  • not have applied for World Citizen Talent Scholarship before
  • not have any other scholarship in their possession while applying for this scholarship grant.

Application Process

There are no separate scholarship applications to apply for the World Citizen Talent Scholarship. However, applicants are required to submit an essay to the university. Application for this scholarship grant can be done by following these simple steps below:

  • Apply for admissions at the Hague University of Applied Sciences in a full-time Master's degree program.
  • An original essay in English of 950 to 1100 words explaining how an applicant can contribute to the university program.
    • Mail the essay to masters-admission@hhs.nl

Applicants are also required to mention their names and contact number in their essay along with the WCTS and student number in the email subject.

Selection Process

After the application has been done by the students, it is up to the Masters Scholarship Award Committee to choose the students who will receive the scholarship grant. They assess the essay assignment based on the

  • Use of English,
  • originality, and
  • intentions of the student

On the assessment of these criteria, the board selects three prospective students for the World Citizen Talent Scholarship. All selected applicants are informed about the results via email. The decision of the Scholarship Award Committee is binding and irreversible.

In case a student who has received the World Citizen Talent Scholarship is refused admission, decides to withdraw enrollment, or fails to meet the enrollment criteria the scholarship is terminated.


Grant Details

The World Citizen Talent Scholarship is awarded to academically outstanding international students who want to study in the Netherlands at the Hague University of Applied Sciences.

  • Scholarship applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
  • The scholarship amount is awarded only after a student has been conditionally accepted to the university,
    • and has completed the enrollment process.
  • The scholarship amount is awarded as a tuition waiver of EUR 5,000.

The World Citizen Talent Scholarship is non-renewable and provided only once to the students. Students cannot apply for any other scholarship if the World Citizen Talent Scholarship has been granted to them. The latest Deadline is yet to be announced.
