Indian Women Access Scholarship

The Indian Women Access Scholarship is being granted to Indian female students who wish to pursue higher studies at La Trobe University.

The scholarship provides financial support to Indian women coming from a disadvantaged social and financial background.

  •  The scholarship applies to the Masters of Cybersecurity at La Trobe University.
  • The scholarship grant includes full tuition fees, an establishment of AUD 5000, 
    • a stipend of AUD 10800 per semester paid across 4 months, and 
    • payment of AUD 1800 to assist with the expenses of IELTS.

The Indian Women Access Scholarship is very competitive as only one selected student will receive the same. Applicants are advised to complete the application form carefully.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must secure a place at La Trobe University to be eligible for the scholarship. Apart from that, applicants must fulfill other eligibility requirements listed below: 

  • Must be a female student of Indian Citizenship. 
  • Must reside in India at the time of applying to study at La Trobe University.
  • Must have an official offer letter and should be commencing studies in semester 1.
  • Must be applying for one of the following courses: 
  • Must be at a disadvantage either financially or educationally.
  • Must have already secured high academic results from previous degrees.
  • Must not have any other grant or financial support from the university.
  • Must also have been actively participated in Community Services.

Application Process

Applications forms for the Indian Women Access Scholarship must be submitted before August 15, to be considered for the scholarship. The form must be completed in every aspect including required documents.

Student Supporting Documents

  • Academic Transcripts.
  • Copy of the unconditional offer letter from La Trobe.
  • A copy of the Indian Passport.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • A Statement of Purpose stating the education or financial disadvantage faced by the student and plan on using the scholarship grant.
  • It also includes details about community services and leadership contributions.

Selection Process

Once the applications are received by the University, next comes the selection process.

Selected candidates will be interviewed by the University’s Scholarship Committee (including the representatives from La Trobe University and the College of ASSC) 

 A successful candidate will be notified by the end of September 

 The recipient will be invited to meet with the Vice-Chancellor in October and will receive the Scholarship Certificate from 


Grant Details

The La Trobe University provides the Indian Women Access Scholarship to aid educational expenses for students in the Melbourne Campus.

The scholarship is provided only to Indian female students who are pursuing a Masters in Cyber Security.

Benefits of the Indian Women Access Scholarship at La Trobe University are listed below:

  • An establishment fee of AUD 5000.
  • A stipend of AUD 10800 per semester, paid across four months.
  • A payment of AUD 1800 to assist with expenses on IELTS.
  • The total grant is worth AUD 80000 including all the amenities mentioned above.

Terms and conditions for Indian Women Access Scholarship are listed below:

As a recipient of the scholarship 

  • Must maintain the status of a full-time student during the course of their studies.
  • Must also maintain satisfactory progress in the course they have opted to study.
  • Must complete their courses during the stipulated time given by the university.

Violation of this condition will lead to discontinuation and non-renewability of the scholarship. It may also lead to the scholarship being terminated effective immediately.
