Every year, Aga Khan Academy provides one of its students a chance to pursue a UG degree program at the University of Victoria. This is made possible through the academy collaboration with the university to establish the Aga Khan Academy Renewable Scholarship.
The scholarship program has its eligibility criteria, the application process, selection criteria, and terms and conditions. Furthermore, not all the Aga Khan Academy Students are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Only those students can apply who are nominated by the Academy and have secured admission in a UG program at the University of Victoria.

Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship program is designed for an academically exceptional student at the Aga Khan Academy. Therefore, only the students of the academy are eligible for the scholarship.
Apart from this, students who fulfill the requirements given below are eligible for Aga Khan Academy Renewable Scholarship 2020:
- Admission in the first-year UG degree program at the University of Victoria
- Excellent academic grades ("A" average, or 32 IB points at minimum)
- Satisfying the English Proficiency requirements of the University:
Application Process
Aga Khan Academy Renewable Scholarship 2020 applications are accepted through an online process. As a prospective candidate, you have to complete the online Aga Khan Application and submit it at the University of Victoria Scholarship website, along with all the documents.
How to Apply for Aga Khan Academy Renewable Scholarship 2020?
The step-by-step procedure for Aga Khan Scholarship 2020 are given below:
Step I: Create a NetLink ID and sign onto your UVic My Page using the same.
Step II: Select “Student Services”. If you have not yet received admission confirmation, select “ Applicant Services”.
Step III: Select “View and Apply for awards/scholarships”
Step IV: On my page account, select the "Aga Khan Academy Scholarship Application" and 2020-2021 as the study period.
Step V: Complete the application form.
Step VI: Send in the required student supporting documents. Also, ask your nominator to send in the required Nominator Documentation: Form B, reference letter
Student Supporting Documentation
- Awards/ Recognition Statement listing all your awards, prizes, and recognition of the last three years. The date and details of the awarding institutions should be mentioned as well.
- Answering the essay question in 500 words. Talking about your recent challenges and how you responded to them. Also, how that experience can help you transition to student life at the University of Victoria
- Activities statement which includes a list of all extracurricular and volunteer activities of the last 3 years, with proper date and hours of involvement
- A community reference letter which is written by a person( other than a family member) including details of the name, contact email, and period in which they know you, properly attested should be sent to entrance@uvic.ca.
- Financial Need Assessment: For this, you need to complete the Budget Sheet.

After the submission of the application form, candidates are selected by a panel of selectors. Mails are sent to the shortlisted candidates regarding the same.

Grant Details

Terms and Conditions of Aga Khan Academy Renewable Scholarship

- The applicant can collect the forms through the nearest Aga office in the residence’s country/current residence.
- Aga Academy is not accepting applications from students attending universities in Germany, UK, Denmark, Austria, Italy, Norway, Ireland, and The Netherlands for the 2020-21 application cycle.
- The applicant should be a 1st year UG student at the University and should be nominated by the Aga Khan Academy for a scholarship.
- Canadian residential students are not eligible for the scholarship.
