Sussex Excellence Scholarships

Sussex Excellence Scholarships are presented to incoming students who are planning to pursue higher studies at the University of Sussex The aspiring candidate must get admission to any UG course at the University of Sussex.

Recipients will receive scholarships up to 2,000 GBP as cash maintenance.
- It will be given in two equal installments paid in the first year of the study itself.
Eligible students will be automatically considered.
Sussex Excellence Scholarships can be clubbed with other grants/scholarships offered by the university.

Selections of the recipients of Sussex Excellence Scholarships are based on academic merit, language proficiency, and performance.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Sussex Excellence Scholarships, the applicant must secure admission at the University of Sussex. Apart from that, applicants must fulfill the eligibility criteria listed below:

Must be a UG student entering the university for the first time.
have been made an offer for a place as a UG student at Sussex in September (Not updated yet)
Must have achieved excellent grades in Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications
Must be taking a UK based qualification e.g. A levels, BTEC, International Baccalaureate, Access, City and Guilds, UAL Extended Diplomas
If an applicant has study a combination of A levels and BTECs, then:
- A-Level grade A* and BTEC Diploma grade D*D
- Two A-Levels grade A*A and BTEC Subsidiary Diploma grade D*
- Three BTEC Subsidiary Diplomas grade D*D*D

Ineligibility for the Scholarship

Students who will study a Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) degree.
Students who did not accept the University of Sussex as your firm choice
Students repeating their year or re-applying for any course.

Application Process

No separate applications are required for Sussex Excellence Scholarships. Eligible students will be automatically considered if they have been offered a place to study at the University of Sussex.

Selection Process

Sussex Excellence Scholarships is a merit-based scholarship. The previous academic record and performance of the candidates will be taken into consideration prior to taking the final decision.

The decision of the awarding committee is final and binding on all the applicants.

A formal letter confirming the award and the details of the payments will be issued in September 2020 (NOT UPDATED YET).
