Women in Finance Scholarship: Eligibility, Application, Selection

Women in Finance Scholarship

Offered by Imperial College of Business, the Women in Finance Scholarship is designed to support female students enrolled in MSc. Finance-related programs of the school. Recipients get a scholarship amount of up to 20,000 GBP.

  • It is applicable for ICL’s M.Sc Finance/ Finance & Accounting, M.Sc Risk Management & Financial Engineering, and M.Sc Investment & Wealth Management.
  • The scholarship reward amount can only be used for the payment of tuition fees.
  • No separate scholarship form is required for Women in Finance Scholarship
  • The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic brilliance, leadership skills, and career potential.
  • Preference is given to those with a first-class distinction or its equivalent, at the UG level.

Early applications are strongly recommended for Women in Finance Scholarships.  Applicants are advised to submit their applications before February 1, 2023.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Women in Finance Scholarship, applicants must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Demonstrate academic brilliance such as possessing a first-class honors degree or equivalent at the UG level.
  • Proof of leadership skills and/ or leadership potential.
  • Submit at least two letters of recommendation
    • One LOR should be academic
  • Proof their proficiency in the English language by submitting valid test scores of the IELTS/ PTE/ TOEFL exams.

Standardized test scores should be within the past two years of applying to be considered valid by the school.


Application Process

The business school automatically considers female candidates who have received offers for the September 2020 term, for the Women in Finance Scholarship.

However, as a part of the ICL admission process, applicants need to appear for an interview. Additionally, students are required to submit the following student supporting documents:

  • Two letters of recommendation
  • An updated resume
  • Academic transcripts
  • Personal statement

The application deadline for ICL Women in Finance Scholarship is February 1, 2023.

Grant Details

The Imperial College of London awards the Women in Finance Scholarship with the aim of helping passionate women enter into the field of finance. The scholarship is awarded to encourage exceptional female students to prosper in their academic and professional lives.

The scholarship acts as a tuition fee reduction award only and does NOT cover the additional expenses of studying abroad such as accommodation fees or the cost of food.

Besides this, the Imperial College of London offers a number of scholarships to PG students in the field of finance, such as the Imperial Business Scholarship, the M.Sc Finance Future Leaders Scholarship, the Lee Family- Scholarship & Grant.
