Remarks

I applied to all baby and new IIMs, IMI Delhi, GIM Goa, Great Lakes, Welingkar Mumbai, SIBM Pune, SCMHRD, Fore Delhi, SIBM Hyderabad, XLRI Jamshedpur, NMIMS Mumbai and Bangalore. I got confirmed admission offer from IIM Kashipur, IMI Delhi, Fore Delhi, Great Lakes, Welingkar Mumbai, SIBM Hyderabad, NMIMS Bangalore I chose IMT Ghaziabad over other colleges for : 1) Brand Name of IMT in Marketing, 2) The vast alumni network of IMT, 3) The Location of IMT (Delhi NCR) Did not pay waitlist fee for GIM Goa, IIM Thrichy, IIM Jammu and few other baby IIMs. Got waitlisted for NMIMS Mumbai. Scored less than 95 percentile in SNAP, hence did not get interview call for SIBM Pune and SCMHRD. Did not meet Quant sectional cutoff of XIMB and XLRI. IMT accepts CAT score, XAT and GMAT scores. The most preferred one is CAT since its most most widely accepted exam score in India for B Schools. Students are called in for Critical Thinking and Interview based on their academic and entrance exam scores. Students then are evaluated based on their CT and PI performance, along with their CV (Extra curriculars, Awards, Honorable mentions, Achievements) I had a pretty chill experience. My Interview and WAT was scheduled in Park Hotel, Chennai. The onboarding process was smooth, we got an opportunity to interact with current students of IMT, who shared with us their college experience. Administration was considerate enough when people missed few documents, or appeared at the venue late.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

A class roughly has 60 students seated in. The total strength of my particular specialization (PGDM marketing) is 200 (1st Year) IMT has students from across India (20+ States and UT), hence, there is no lack of cultural diversity in class. Most are from Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata. Students are given a mentor (High achiever from 2nd year). There is also peer to peer learning incorporated in IMT. Yes, almost all courses have class participation marks. Yes, most of the students attend classes for learning, the course is good and the teachers are experts in their own field.

Internships Opportunities

2

Almost all got internship in one or the other way, 150+ companies visit campus. Few, who did not get internships do unpaid internships or get a paid one through the strong alumni connect of IMT. Highest stipend was 4.5 lakhs for 2 months last year. The most preferred are FMCG companies since they tend to give good stipend and PPOs. All courses (Marketing, Finance, BFS) get ample of opportunities for SIP since companies come from multiple sectors.

Placement Experience

2

Almost everyone gets placed in placement season itself. Only a very handful remain unplaced. College uses its strong alumni and industry connect to support students throughout. The most preferred companies are from FMCG. They give good package and relevant industry exposure.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The total fee of IMT Ghaziabad for a PGDM student comes close to 20.5 lakhs, there is no separate hostel and mess fees since it's included in the 20.5 lakhs. The first year, you are supposed to pay 12.3 Lakhs, and the rest in 2nd year. The fees is a bit higher as compared to baby and new IIMs, but when compared with private MBA institutes, the fees is considered normal. Other expense includes Groceries, Food, Dress/Every day essentials. No, IMT does not follow reservation, but IMT has scholarships where people from poor background receive a tuition fee deduction.

Campus Life

2

The college has good infrastructure that can almost support all major sports like cricket, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, tennis etc. We have both indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Yes, there are two gyms in the college. The gyms are equipped with all basic machines found in normal gym. No, the college does not have a swimming pool. The college has a huge auditorium that can seat 600 students, and has 2 libraries equipped with state of the art computers. We have access to many third party databases and facilities like bloomberg terminal. No, students are not allowed to have personal vehicles parked inside campus. Relatives/friends can visit students during visitor hours. But they are not allowed inside the hostel rooms. Apart from canteen/cafteria (Arcus and Nescafe) there are no other food joints. The college has a medical emergency room with a visiting doctor. The college also has 24x7 ambulance facilities. The overall campus life is vibrant, most students hangout in common areas after class. IMT never sleeps, there always something going on at night. The cafteria is open at night. K block is where most students hangout, outside the campus people usually go to Delhi, or Noida to party. No, the locality is a bit unsafe at night. IMT has lots of fests, but the biggest one is Passion. The campus is all engaging during the time of fests, where everyone contributes and participates. There are 20+ clubs and committees, Dj Ravtor performed during Passion. The most important committee is the Student Council. Yes, there is a foreign exchange program available in IMT. 30+ students participate in this exchange,

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Yes, Boys and Girls have separate hostels. No, boys are not allowed to enter girls' hostel under any circumstances. There are 10 hostel blocks. K block is the best, since it is nearer to all common recreational rooms and hangout places. No, the hostel allocation is not first come first serve basis, everyone gets same hostel. There is no separate hostel fees, it is included in tuition fees. Students here have lot of freedom, with minimal supervision. The students cannot leave the hostel after 10pm and cannot enter hostel between 11pm to 5am. Mess food is included under tuition fee, just like hostel fees. Yes, each hostel has cafeteria and canteen. The food quality here is good, the variety is high, and the menu changes every 15 days. Yes, the entire campus is guarded. There is no security threat, the entire campus is highly secure.IMT has double bed rooms with few single bed rooms for special cases. I got double bed room since i did not have any case that required me to have a single sharing room. All rooms are equipped with ACs, the entire campus is Wifi-enabled, study table, chair, almirah, bed each for both the students in a room. Yes, we do have common room. We have Table Tennis, Cafe, and lots of places to hangout. IMT has common washrooms, with 16 students sharing 2 toilets, 2 bathrooms, 2 urinals and 2 washbasin. The hostel rooms are cleaned every single day.

February, 2024 - CT and PI Process 4th Week of March, 2024 - Roll out of provisional admission offer. Most preferred one is CAT, since it is accepted by most B Schools in India. The safe percentile for a fresher would be 95, and safe percentile for people with work experience would be 92+ No, IMT Admission process is the only way to get admission, there is no outside sources or management quota in IMT Ghaizabad.

Faculty

There are 3 trimesters every year, and each trimester has an end-term exam along with multiple quizzes, group projects and presentations. Most of the subjects are easy to understand. Continuous quizzes help with the revision of the course materials. In the first trimester, the classes are usually scheduled from 9 am to 4:45 pm all days of the week. Students who are engaged with committee work do not get much free time after classes and some find it really hard to balance academics and extracurriculars. Students also have to maintain 80% attendance in each subject or else they suffer grade losses. Lecturers use PPTs to teach in class and keep the sessions interactive by bringing in real-life case studies relevant to the topic at hand. Most of them are great at engaging students but there are some who just come and read out the slides.

Placement Experience:

Final placements start in November adn about 80-85% of the people in campus get placed via it. I am not aware of any of the details surrounding average, lowest and highest as of now. The Placement Committee plays a vital role in getting these companies on board to recruit however they are not at all transparent and show a high degree of preference towards their own members and push for them to be included in GDPIs of companies at the expense of others.

Placement Experience:

While the college has a very good placement record, it still does not place nearly 5-10% of its students, and those students go through all sorts of workshops, mock interviews, and one-on-one mentoring by the instituition to ensure they get placed. Average CTC is around INR 19 LPA. The placement committee plays a crucial role in coordinating the process and, while many see it as transparent, some students feel that improvements can be made in terms of communication concerning criteria placed on placements.

Placement Experience:

Final placements usually start around January. It takes about 2 weeks for the process to finish. Placements are 100% every year. CTC can range from 17LPA, with an average of 30LPA to 65L domestic and 1.3Cr in international offers. Placement process is transparent as most of it is conducted by students themselves and the placement committee works hard to ensure every student is placed.
