Remarks

1. I had applied to XIME Bangalore, Welingkar, and Christ College. I got selected for XIME Bangalore. 2. I choose IIITM Gwalior because it is a central government institute, proximity to my hometown and affordable program fee. 3. I got rejected from Welingkar and Christ due to low CAT score. 4. The admission process for MBA is quite straight forward. IIITM only accepts CAT score. There is no explicit mention of minimum CAT percentile. In under graduation one should have at least 60% with maths/statistics as one of the subjects. After that there will be group discuss round and interview round. Selected students name will get published on the official college website.

Faculty

The courses are very engaging and can be academically demanding but that depends on the faculty taking the course. A student has to take a minimum of 5 , 4 credit courses and there are 2 exams : the mid term and end sem exam exams. Some courses do not have exams but conduct quizzes or just essays. there can be 2- 4 classes in one day depending on the students time table each lasting for 1.5 hours. Prof Bittu and Prof Vidya Avasare is someone I admire the most of all the courses I have taken. The teaching methodology is very research based so no rote learning is involved. Students are required to analyze information and engage with it. Every course has a different attendence policy some allow to unexcused absences others dont allow any absences at all and some may have a more relaxed policy. There is grade cut for not attending classes.

Placement Experience:

The EPGP students have enough work experience and are placed in their respective domains and the process is recruiter based mostly. They have incremental placements from their previous experiences. The PGP and IPM batches are placed together, there is an equal representation of freshers and work experience guys in the batch. There are summer placements after the PGP year 1 and Final placements after the course completion. Consulting, Finance, Sales and Matketing, Analytics and Product Management are the main areas of employment. Niche firms like BCG, Kearney, JPMC, Goldman Sachs, HUL, Amazon etc hire from the campus directly. The process is completely transparent. The average placements ranged from 25-30 LPA in the last three years for the PGP IPM batches. Highest may go upto 1 Cr CTC, lowest has gone down upto 11 LPA. All the students get placed by hook or by crook in the end. It's a 2 week long process.
