Remarks

University of Delhi accepts admission via CUET Exam, followed by the preference list made by the candidates, then allocating the college keeping in mind all the supernumery quotas and CUET Scores. My raw scores of CUET were 770/800, which gave me an idea of getting into Hansraj College, BUT, NTA had other plans! They calculated my final score as 740 out of nowhere. I had ECA in creative writing (english), quiz & nss where I secured HIGHEST MARKS in past 5 years in the history of ECA in creative writing: 59. Instead of getting a college according to my highest score 59, I got a college with lowest score in NSS(34). It was IPCW. This experience has lowered my morale a LOT. So, there was no option left and I had to accept my college at first allocation round i.e. Daulat Ram College. Afterall, it feels like DRC is meant for me , my girls are making it very enjoyable journey:)

Course Curriculum Overview

3

• Infrastructure of DRC is quietly poor. • Total strength of my classroom is approx 70 but alloted rooms for classes are WAY TOO SMALL. • It's a complete girls college, so no girls: boys exist. • Yes , variety of kids of various cultures can be found from whole india, but majority is from North India (Haryana, UP, Bihar, Delhi). • Yes, collective learning and growing environment persists in my classroom. • Class participation SURELY carries marks. • it's only 30% of the students who genuinely attend classes for learning. Since outside college, there exists a lot of opportunities which have more growth chances. Students tend to keep themselves more included in society works rather. It's good to see students prioritising what's more beneficial and striking a balance between classes and exposure.

Internships Opportunities

3

Best placements are provided in Commerce and Economics department. Not 100% but 70% of the students get Summer internships. 40-50% students get paid internships. Companies that are associated with Placement cell are Deloitte, Accenture , Dyson, KPMG, PWC, EY, HCL, NIIT, Decathlon, etc. but since I am undergraduate student in 1st year semester 1 BCom program. I am not acryped with enough information to be provided here since I am a part of the college from one month only.

Placement Experience

2

I'm an undergraduate student in First year Semester -1 of B.Com. it's only a month I've been a part of Daulat Ram College. Currently I'm not having enough reliable information to be provided here. hence I am not having much information of the most preferred company, average CTC for placement and transparency of the placement committee.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Fee for General category student for B.Com program is Rs. 34250 per year while it is comparatively way for PWD candidates. I'll be paying Rs. 102750 approximately for my 3-year degree. This fee seems to be HIGHER as compared to other colleges affiliated with University of Delhi. Apart from fee, other expenses (considering girls) include PG rents ranging from 12000-20000, being a wise spender, upper expenses cannot exceed Rs. 3000 per month since transportation in north campus is free of cost. Good thing is this 3000 may include all your fest costs as well ;) Yes, the college provides various Scholarships under NSP, and other commercial scholarships provided my big firms like Reliance are also supported.

Campus Life

3

Yes, sports complex is there is DRC having all the sports with proper equipments. Gym is also there, seems to be newly built. No, there is not any swimming pool. Auditorium (Sadbhavana Bhawan) is 6/10 as compared to other colleges. Library is accessible but only to DRC staff and students with regular I'd card checking. Campus is not as big as other colleges, it's satisfactory. Yes there are other food joints just outside the college.Overall campus life : 11/10 Fests: 8/10 During Manjari'23, Akhil was invited. Major societies include EISC Cell, Vriddhi the placement cell, Cases over Coffee, Zenith - western dance society, Anhad- Classical dance society, Eclat- economics society, GAEE'DRC, Debonair -Fashion society and many more. I'm a part of UDYAM- ENTREPRENEURSHIP, INNOVATIVE AND STARTUP CELL, as a Junior Executive of the Sponsorship Department.

Hostel Facilities

3

I've not applied for college hostel. But many of friends are in hostel and reviews are very good in every aspect either its safety or food. Yes, college has its own canteen and cafeteria but hostel kids prefer to have their meals at the hostel itself. Absolutely, hostels are guarded properly. Time to reach (at most) in a girls hostel is 7 pm.As much I've asked from my "hostel-kid" friend, it offers single, double sharing , triple and 4-girls sharing rooms as well. Quality of the amenities provided are moderate, but, food is quite good. Other than hostels, students prefer to have PGs, meanwhile boys of second year prefer to have a flat of their own.

Exam Structure

The very important thing is: CUET scores! Taking admission into college doesn't require any interview or GD, but college societies do follow a rigourous process like this. Allocation into college is done on at automated portal of University of Delhi, considering the preference list of the candidate, and all the quotas if any (both caste and supernumery). Safe score for getting into North campus of DU & top colleges of South like Veny for General category is 730+ (B.Com). For top 5 colleges it would be 760+ - No, there is NOT any way of getting into DU with Donation, but yes, Ward's Quota exists! TIMELINE: 1. CUET Application Form: 9th February 2024 to 30th March, 2024. 2. Last Date for CUET Form Fee Payment Online: 30th March, 2024 4. Correction Window of form: 1st to 3rd April, 2023 5. City Intimation: 30 April, 2024 6. Exam Dates: 21 to 31 May, 2024 7. Answer Key Out: 3rd week of June, 2024 8. Results: 4th Week of June , 2024 9. Counseling: July, 2024 10. Trails for ECA: Starting from 12 August,2024 11. Last round of allocation till third week of September, 2024

The course is not that difficult, there are some exams which you might find difficult although if you study you can do anything. In first year there are around 30 exams, 10 in each trimester. The classes vary from trimester to trimester, but usually 2-3 in a day and 1hr 30 minutes each class. The classes start from 8:30 AM and go on till 3:45 PM. The students get 15 minutes break after every class. The faculty teaches from real world cases and provides Harvard business review cases and activities to make the classes interactive. Students should have at least 80% attendance in every subject and if it goes below 80% you should have a really good reason to convince the admin but don’t go to that point. NMIMS are strict about their rules, so it’s better to follow them blindly.

Placement Experience:

As am from second year I don't know much about placements. about the placement committee they are not that active that you can rely on them for placements. mostly students build profiles on linkedin and stay updated with the recruitments going on. Also sessions and seminars are conducted for profile building that are good. As of 2023, highest package was of around 37 lacs and an average package of around 6 to 7 lacs. the specialisations offered with this course are HR, FINANCE AND MARKETING.

Placement Experience:

After the completion of final semester exams the final placement starts. It takes around a month for placement to officially get over. Around 10-15% students get final placement and the others don't. The college provides placement opportunity for many many years to ex students as well. The average ctc is around 3-4Lpa, the hightest is around 12Lpa and the lowest can go to 1-1.5 Lpa. Amazon, delloite etc are the most proffered ones don't know about their avg ctc. The placement committee has a strong role in guiding students and giving them opportunity in the placement drive of the college, it also provides many mock interview practices and expert counselling to know more about placements and yes the process is 100% transparent.

Placement Experience:

1. Placement Timeline: Final placements typically start in late January or early February and continue until the end of March. The process usually takes about two to three months to complete. 2. Placement Success Rate: While most students do get placed, about 10-15% may remain unplaced during final placements. To assist those unplaced, the college offers additional workshops, personalized mentoring, and access to companies that may not participate in the main placement drive. 3. CTC Offered: Average CTC: Approximately ₹6-8 LPA. Highest CTC: Can reach up to ₹20 LPA, especially from leading consulting and tech firms. Lowest CTC: Some students may accept offers around ₹3-4 LPA, particularly in smaller companies or startups. 4. Preferred Companies: Most preferred companies include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and various consulting firms like Deloitte and Accenture. The average CTC from these companies typically ranges from ₹6-10 LPA. 5. Bulk Hiring Companies: Companies like Cognizant, TCS, and Wipro are known for bulk hiring. These companies generally offer average CTCs of around ₹6-8 LPA. 6. Role of the Placement Committee: The placement committee is responsible for coordinating the placement process, inviting companies, conducting mock interviews, and providing guidance to students. While the process is generally transparent, some students feel that it could be improved, particularly regarding information sharing about job roles and company profiles. Overall, transparency is moderate but could benefit from clearer communication.
