It's difficult to say which one is better IIM Ranchi, IIM Trichy, and IIM Raipur for a fresher without work experience, as it depends on your personal preferences and career goals.

Here are some factors to consider when making your decision:

Batch Profiles: Whenever you join a new place, especially an IIM, it takes time to keep up with the pace of the professors. You will need students who will guide you in the same. Both Trichy and Ranchi are excellent in this aspect having diverse student backgrounds.
Faculty: Another great way to evaluate an institute is to research the internal and visiting faculty as information sharing is an indispensable part of IIM culture. IIM Ranchi is said to have the best faculty from the best B-schools like IIM B, C, L and I. IIM Ranchi also has industry experts who’ve worked there for over 30 years and reached a CXO designation across respected corporate conduct classes for its students. These classes are full-fledged 30 hour credit courses. Basically, IIM Ranchi exposes you to the brilliant minds of the country.
Placements: Since you will end up with a big loan to pay off by the end, it’s very important to look up the placement reports of the concerned institutes. Usually, IIM Ranchi ranks the best in terms of placements.

IIM Trichy is the best option among these. It is especially good for Strategy, Finance, and Marketing specialization. The institute has an excellent placement record. IIM Trichy placement 2022 ended with an average CTC of INR 17.01 LPA, while the highest CTC offered this year was INR 34 LPA. It has a permanent campus and offers an enviable campus experience to students.

If you want to specialize in HR, IIM Ranchi will be a better option.

One of my friends was in a similar dilemma a few years back and he chooses IIM Trichy. According to him, the decision has been worth it.

Here are the reasons why he chooses IIM Trichy, as well as few snippets from his experience at the institute.

Placements: Among the new IIMs, IIM Trichy is one of the best with many reputed MNCs like Deloitte, Mahindra, KPMG, visiting the campus for placements.
Competitions: IIM Trichy students have been performing great in competitions like CFA-RC, Yes Bank Transformation Series, Cognizant CXO Challenge, etc. at both national and international levels. They even outperformed many from reputed Old IIMs and other reputed B-Schools.
Faculty: The faculty-student ratio for IIM Trichy is 1:8, which is way better than most of the new IIMs.

My friend who is from an engineering background quite enjoys the lectures and classes at IIM Trichy. Although he was nervous to be among such a diverse peer group, with time he started enjoying his time at the institute. IIM Trichy also has a great sports culture. You can pursue any hobbies there.
