I have interview calls from XLRI, IIFT and all the six new IIMs, as well as for the MIB course at the Delhi School of Economics. Which college is the best option for me?

MBA (IIFT Delhi), CA and CS

It's important to note that XLRI offers two programs: BM (Business Management) and HRM (Human Resource Management). The HRM program is considered to be in a league of its own and is not directly comparable to a general business management program. With regard to your question, it's important to focus on converting the maximum number of calls you have received before making a decision on which business school to attend.

As a fresher with gender diversity and decent past academic performance, you have a good chance of getting through the GD/PI process if you perform well. The only area of concern may be your low marks in Class XII. While XLRI places a significant emphasis on the interview process, taking into account past academics, IIFT places a heavier weight on the entrance exam score (about 60% weightage). Therefore, B-schools like FMS, IIFT, and MDI are best suited for those with average past academics.

XLRI is a strong choice, followed by IIFT, New IIMs, and DSE. For an MBA in International Business, IIFT is considered to be the best B-School in India offering an MBA (IB) program. It's important to keep in mind that this order is based on personal opinion and you should conduct your own research and weigh your options before making a decision. Wishing you the best of luck in all your GD/PI processes.

MBA (IIFT Delhi)

XLRI gives major weightage to interview so converting is in your hands. The number of people who are selected for interviews for the seats available is less so conversion chances are great.

IIFT puts more emphasis on your Entrance exam score. IIFT gives about 60% weightage to the written score. Conversion chances for this institute are also fair. Hence, B schools like FMS, IIFT, MDI are best for people with average past academics.

New IIMs give a huge number of calls so converting a call from new IIMs is a bit difficult. Most of them do not have their own campus which is a big disadvantage.

Considering you convert all of them, your preference order for MBA should be as follows.

XLRI> IIFT> New IIMs> DSE
