SMIT cutoff for CSE stays around 19000. So, you will have a good chance of getting CSE. Even if you don’t get CSE, during the first round of counseling, you will have a good chance of getting admission during the waiting list counseling. Students applying for the Sikkim campus are less in number, so you have a good chance of getting admission.
One of my relatives who is an alumnus of Sikkim Manipal says that if you are called for counseling, you are being considered. Mind you, it does not guarantee admission.
The Manipal Branch is more preferred by the students than the Sikkim Branch. So, you have a good chance of getting admission. You will have a better idea if you look up the record of cutoffs for the previous years. If you don’t end up getting a chance in the first round, you will have a high chance of hitting the bull’s eye in the second chance.
A prospective student who applied with a rank of 17095 easily got admission to the Sikkim branch of the university. It was a long time ago though. The competition has certainly got tougher now as CSE is the best department in the university.
