Here are some of the facts about the curriculum and teaching environment at IIIT Guwahati.

  • The teaching environment usually depends on the faculty members. Most of the teaching faculty members at IIIT Guwahati are good. Here are some of the best faculty members- Dip Sankar Banerjee, Srinivas Swain, Soumi Chattopadhyay, etc.
  • The institute is well equipped for learning and teaching. The campus is calm and peaceful.
  • The environment at the residence also impacts the environment in the classroom. However, the latter is good and has comfort, thus making the learning and teaching environment in the classroom better.
  • The institute follows the system of Relative grading as followed in the IITs. In this system, the student is not just judged by their performance but also according to the performance of the class. Thus, in order to get a high CPI, the student needs to get high marks and also make sure that they outperform their other fellow classmates.
  • The classes are held from 9-12 pm or 8-12 pm, and then 2-4 pm or 2-5 pm. The class duration depends on the semester and timetable. The lectures are one hour long and labs are three hours long.
  • The curriculum is relevant and is industry-oriented. For someone who is a tech geek or who wants to become a hardcore programmer, then the teaching environment over there will be best for them.

The aspiring student should talk to their seniors and know the real situation if they want more information.
