studied at Cochin University Of Science and Technology

Safety and Fire Engineering, Naval Arch, and Ship Building are the best branches of CUSAT. These branches are unique and are offered only at a few locations across the country. CUSAT placement for these branches is pretty good. The average CTC for these branches is around INR 7-10 LPA

Other than these, non-core branches like CSE, IT, and ECE also have good placement records.

Btech Mechanical Engineering, Cochin University Of Science and Technology (2022)

CUSAT offers a total of ten engineering branches. Out of which, the School of Engineering has seven branches which are as follows.

  1. Civil
  2. Computer science
  3. Electronics and communications
  4. Electrical and electronics
  5. Information and technology
  6. Mechanical
  7. Fire and safety

Other than this, there are other branches that are:

  1. Instrumentation
  2. Ship technology
  3. Marine engineering

Ship technology is one of the most desired branches at CUSAT. Students with a rank under 400 can get in here. The department has qualified faculty and well-equipped labs. The placements are great here.

Marine engineering and Instrumentation are also good here with good professors and amenities. The placements are also good.

The three main departments of SOE are Mechanical, Electronics & Communication and Computer science. The mechanical department is the largest with highly qualified permanent faculties having Ph.D. from IITs. The Electronics & communication and Computer science are also high-performing departments at CUSAT. These departments have amazing placements.

Many claim that safety engineering is one of the best CUSAT. But there are few reasons for that. The placements are undoubtedly amazing here. The course curriculum that is set for four years is very easy and can be done within one year. The core subjects are very easy. As the government has advised having safety engineers in all companies, thus companies have to recruit them.
