The weekend MBA from IIM Bangalore can help you enhance your career. Be it weekend or fulltime doing an MBA from IIM Bangalore is a huge feat. You can benefit a lot from the brand value of the institute.

The weekend MBA is designed for working professionals. If you can do self-learning without any supervision, this can be a good opportunity. But peer-to-peer learning is limited for this course.

The coursework will be heavy. It will keep you busy throughout the week as well as the weekend. If you have a full-time job, you need to learn to balance things and utilize your time efficiently. You will learn through class presentations, mini-projects, quizzes, book reports, etc. You will have access to the library, and computer labs. There are no placements, but you can find jobs through networking.

Weekend MBAs are customized for working professionals. You won’t have to compromise your work and personal life for pursuing these courses. Part-time and distance learning didn’t hold much value in the past but that has changed. Most top B-schools in India have started offering weekend MBAs.

The weekend MBA program offered by IIM Bangalore has a comprehensive syllabus just like the regular MBA. You will have to work on projects, submit assignments. You will also get uninterrupted technical support if you have any doubts. The skills and knowledge that you will get from this course can help you in enhancing your career. You should note that you will not get any placement opportunities like the regular MBA degree. You will have to search for job opportunities through networking.

The Weekend or Full- time MBA at IIM Bangalore are both considered good. Post Graduate Program in Enterprise Management (Weekend MBA) is focused on mid-career and senior executives whereas the Post Graduate Program in Management focuses on the professionals at the entry-level.

  • Curriculum- The curriculum for both the weekend MBA and the full-time MBA is equally hectic to keep the students busy throughout the week. There is a CGPA system for the weekend batch to ensure the pressure of getting good grades and credits.

  • Fees- The fee for Post Graduate Program in Management is INR 23,00,000 whereas for Post Graduate Program in Enterprise Management (Weekend MBA) is INR 18,50,000.

  • Length of the Course- The Post Graduate Program in Enterprise Management is for a duration of 22 months (minimum, given if you are able to attain all your credits by then), and is done over 2.5 months quarters since classes are on the weekend.

  • Placements- There are no formal placement sessions for PGPEM students, so there is no immediate placement after the course into the profiles like full-time MBA students.

  • Opportunities- Peer learning is at peak for this course since your batch-mates are from several organizations. You may find some excellent potential partners if you are planning for entrepreneurship.

Benefits of full-time MBA-

  1. Students get to spend much more time with the faculty and they can achieve different benefits depending on the impression.

  2. They can make career decisions from scratch and a full-time MBA has better placement.

Benefits of weekend MBA-

  1. The candidates have a lot of industry experience and hence can better co-relate with the studies.

  2. They already have a lot of skills like presentation and negotiation techniques.

  3. The pressure is less.

It’s upon the situation of the candidate which will help in making the choice between weekend or full-time MBA. IIM Bangalore ensures that the students get the best exposure and competitive environment in both programs.
