NIT Jalandhar, also known as Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, offers several programs in Doctors in Philosophy, with specialization in Science, Engineering, Humanities, and Management.

There are certain criteria required for every specific program, and they are described below in points.

Ph.D. - Engineering Programs: A master’s degree in any engineering or technology stream, in relevance to the field of research, is required. Along with that, an engineering or technology bachelor’s degree with at least 60% marks is also necessary.
Ph.D.- Science Programs: A master’s degree in any relevant branch of Science with at least 60% marks is required.
Ph.D.- Humanities, and Management: A master’s degree in Management or some similar areas, for example, Commerce, Engineering Law, Public Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Psychology, Economics, Business Economics, Sociology, etc is required. A minimum of 60% marks in one of the previous subjects, along with 55% marks in Humanities is necessary.
