studied at National Institute of Technology, Raipur

NIT Raipur offers a great Mechanical Engineering program. The department has a dedicated faculty pool. Professors are well-experienced in their field. Placements are good for Mechanical. The average package received by the students is around INR 7-8 LPA. Companies such as Deloitte, L&T, Hero MotoCorp, etc. take part in the NIT Raipur placements. Many students also get recruited by non-core companies. The department has many clubs such as SAE group and Robotics club.

Mechanical engineering at NIT Raipur is one of the best among all the NITs. The faculty members over there are some of the best on the campus as compared to the other departments. The faculty members serve everyone's needs.

The seniors and other faculty members are quite talented and extra-ordinary. The students put a lot of effort into everything they do. They have made the SAE group and robotics group in the college this year only. There is a lot to learn in Mechanical at NIT Raipur.

Placements are amazing but also depend upon your knowledge and skills. Even if you don’t get placed anywhere, you could still prepare for GATE as the college has a very good environment for the students. Using your preparation for GATE, you could even get a job in PSU like IOCL, BPCL, NTPC, etc.

The mechanical students definitely get paid less than the software students, but they have the most essential perk of job security which most of today’s software companies and startups lack. Job openings for mechanical engineers are always there. There is a reason why mechanical is called the evergreen branch.
