How is IIIT Nagpur?

IIIT Nagpur offers decent academics and has a good campus environment. The coding culture on campus is rapidly evolving. DotSlah is the coding club of the college. It organizes coding workshops every Tuesday. Students code together under the guidance of 5-6 skilled coders. According to IIIT Nagpur placements 2021, the average and highest CTC offered were INR 8.27 LPA and INR 44.5 LPA, respectively.

IIIT Nagpur is a recently opened centrally-funded institute, with just one pass-out batch in 2020. Presently, only B.Tech and Ph.D. programs are started for CSE and ECE. My brother is a student of IIIT Nagpur so I know a little bit about the institute. A brief overview of some aspects of the institute is listed below.

Syllabus:

• The syllabus and curriculum of IIITs are framed according to the current needs in the industry and research worldwide because most IIITs are recently set up.
• IIIT Nagpur has the same scenario in terms of syllabus and can be considered to be one of the best syllabuses for CSE and ECE. There are no unnecessary subjects like material science, physics, and chemistry in the syllabus. 

Faculty:

• The faculties in both CSE and ECE are very good. They even give opportunities to work under them to deserving students.
• The faculties of ECE are mostly young and enthusiastic. Students who interact properly with faculties and are successful in publishing research papers.
• Basic Science professors are good and energetic. Information related to their works is provided on the college’s website. 
• CSE students get the opportunity to be taught by good VNIT professors too.

Infrastructure:

• The permanent campus of IIIT Nagpur is just set up.
• The new campus is 100 acres in area, with a few IT companies inside the boundary, giving an added benefit to the students in IT exposure.
• There are good books in the library, with a constantly increasing collection. 
• There are proper laboratories, with almost all the necessary equipment and high-configuration computers.

Mess/Canteen:

• There are general stores for daily goods, food items, and stationery items located outside the campus.
• The new mess is better than the previous one.

Placements:

• ECE students get core-company jobs if they have a good overall GPA. Rest students either get software company jobs or go for higher studies.
• Nowadays, companies like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon have open campus concepts, so there are chances for students of CSE in those companies. There is no restriction by the college in the case of off-campus placements.

Internships:

• You will get a lot of opportunities in companies and institutes as internships from IIIT Nagpur. From start-ups to large companies and institutes, there are internships available in every sector.
• For internships, seniors can be a big help. 

Culture:

• The technical fest and the cultural fest, namely Tantrafiesta and Abhivyakti, are still growing with time.
• There are several study circles formed by students who are enthusiastic about MBA or M.Tech.
• There is a good coding culture inside the campus.
• ECE is leading in respect of research culture in the institute. 

The points above give a brief picture of every important aspect of the institute.
